Spent the most wonderful 2 days at this renovated mill as a stopover on our journey to Limoges! Cannot recommend this place enough! Beautiful building surrounded by water & nature…. Especially enjoyed watching a heron family fish in the river! Rooms were gorgeous, swimming pool was fabulous (our teenage daughters’ favourite place to be during our stay!) Breakfast was simple but perfect (fresh bread, cheese, fruit, yoghurt & jams). Our hosts were so welcoming … thank you to Lili and her husband for being so helpful & friendly! And how wonderful to meet the resident dogs & kitten!! Easy travel into Orléans which is a lovely city to visit! We absolutely fell in love with this place and would definitely stay again in the future! 🥰

I simply don’t have enough superlatives for this wonderful place. The setting is absolutely magical, the welcome and hospitality second to none and the accommodation superb. A place to really relax, unwind and enjoy. Fabulous and we will certainly be returning as soon as possible 

Wonderful gem. Comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, views over the river, delicious breakfast and our every need looked after by delightful owner Lili.  We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. And by the time we left, relaxed and restored. We had watched the wildlife on the river; walked the Sentier des moulins, swam in the pool and relaxed over glasses of wine on the terrace right on the river. Everywhere is peaceful.  We will return soon. Thankyou Lili and Jakuf & Sasha the dogs for a perfect stay. 

Stunning location overlooking the river with its languid motion, busy bird life and lovely riverside walk.

Room was as per the website, comfortable, spotless and Aurelie was just delightful. The two house dogs are too cute and no trouble but best resist the urge to give them snacks :)

There are a few restaurants within an easy walk. We particularly loved La Laurendiere fabulous unexpected fine dining at a moderate price.



Beautiful location! Tranquil and serene. Wanted a stay longer, our cancelled flight annoyingly cut our stay short. 
Pool is delightful. Loved the provision of towels for both the pool and shower.
Breakfast is perfect, fresh, quality produced. Room was airy, modern and clean.

Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Picture-perfect setting. We felt tucked away but were minutes from Orleans. We would have been happy never leaving the property! Delicious breakfast. We're not big breakfast eaters but looked forward to the delicious pastries, bread, and jams each morning. Wonderful host. She was responsive and welcoming but at the same time left us to ourselves unless we had questions or needs. We plan to recommend to friends and family, and return again.

My wife and I recently spent an amazing 3 days in the Loire Valley.  We were looking for a centralized location to easily access the eastern and central regions of the Loire Valley to visit local wineries.  We were very fortunate to have found the Moulin St-Julien.  Our gracious hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside.  The rooms were spacious, well kept and 100% aligned with our expectations.  Having ‘le petit déjeuner’ sitting in front of open water with the ducks, swans and other wildlife - it doesn’t get better than that!  If you like to go for long walks and simply enjoy a peaceful and relaxing tour of the area, le Moulin is surrounded by other ancestral Mills.  Within an hour, you’ll have crossed many hidden treasures that will surely please you.  I highly recommend this place.  

My wife and I are not necessarily the typical B & B guests as we tend to prefer the anonymity of larger more traditional hotels.

The consistently outstanding reviews of Moulin Saint Julien maison d’hôtes made a compelling case for us to book and stay 3 nights in the L'Atelier room exploring Orleans and the immediate region.

Aurélie is a thoroughly charming and incredibly obliging host who has with her family a beautiful historical property in an equally stunning location. (I might add the family dog Sacha is just as welcoming of guests and gorgeous and probably needs a friend!)

The rooms are renovated, generously apportioned and with almost every facility affording great views. 

Breakfast is simple but of quality although would be enhanced by perhaps some eggs to boil.

Parking is secure and complimentary but not under cover and wifi always available.

The only things we missed to uplift to the boutique luxury feel were some bathroom robes, room safe and fridge in the room rather than using the common area.

Bottom line - highly recommended and would unhesitatingly return.

Hidden away on the banks of a river . Tastefully renovated. Modern and spacious but with all the home comforts . 
Our host was kind and efficient and communicated with us about our time of arrival on our Long and rain sodden journey from the south of France .
Gave us excellent help on local restaurants and provided us with a faultless French breakfast.
Wished we were able to stay longer than one night and explore the area 

We stayed at the very beautiful Moulin St Julien for 2 nights on a trip around the Loire Valley.  The accommodation is perfect in every way.  It has been renovated to a very high standard and the welcome you receive is very warm.  You are made to feel part of the family.  The breakfast was superb!  Thank you for looking after us so well, we would love to return!

Amazing Stay at Le Moulin St Julien!

Thoroughly delightful and a perfect base to explore Orleans

Very lovely in every way 

Perfect break 

Wonderful location on the banks of the Loiret and restored to a really high standard. Our room was huge and the bathroom was very modern with bath and separate shower as well. 
We were only there for one night and would have loved more time to visit Orleans and spend time along the river.
Some great restaurants nearby and we used La Rivage for some classic French cuisine. 
Breakfast at St Julien was wonderful with a varied choice. 
Great place to tour the area from and have a comfortable place to relax in the evening.

Overnight Stay

Perfect place for a stop over (or a longer stay!) in the middle of France. Would return without hesitation.

After much research we decided to stay here as it was just off our route to the South of France. Around 5 hours from the Eurotunnel Calais terminal. It's a fairly easy drive - but either way you are immediately at ease when you arrive here! Driving through the gates (these make you feel very secure) and pulling up in front of the building it's so restful. 

The owners are so friendly and welcoming. If your French isn't the finest do not worry, English is spoken. The rooms are very comfortable, a great contemporary style with good quality fittings. We had a huge bath to soak in - then a really comfortable bed to collapse in.

Breakfast is a very simple affair, lovely and casual.

We loved Moulin so much we stopped on the way back too!!
