I booked this place to be at the centre of Lille, very close to the train station, on a budget. I was lucky to have a top floor room with double bed; although the building is old, the room had been recently decorated and was in good condition, nice view over the rooftops, and although there was some street noise at night (it was the weekend) I sleep very well in the comfortable bed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. You can easily walk to the main shopping areas and sights. The public areas of the hotel had a slight smell of cigarette smoke because other guests didn't obey the rules, but my room was fine.
