1st of all this place is so friendly, for us (bikers) secure parking, great room, fantastic breakfast outside while people watching, the area has loads and loads of bars and restaurants near by, will definitely use again!

Fanastic place to stay on the way to the ferry port

Don't be put off by the rather shabby exterior of the Hotel Le Paris. Certainly, it does need a bit of money spending on it and of course it does feel a bit dated when you enter the lobby. But with the standardised budget hotel franchises being such a bore, the Hotel Le Paris comes across as quite a refreshing change. The owner could be described as a little bit rough round the edges, but she's a real person who is actually very warm and welcoming, somewhat abrupt but not without humour. One of the great things about this hotel is that it's got a garage where you can safely store your car overnight. I think we might have paid 8 euros for this privilege. We arrived very late in the middle of a torrential storm so we were very grateful when the Paris actually had room for us. We had a comfortable room which was spotlessly clean and we didn't hear a single bit of noise during the night. There's no particular reason why you should ever find yourself in Niort, but if you do I think you could do worse than the Paris. It's actually very well situated because the Avenue de Paris leads right up to the grande place and there are lots of bars and restaurants along the side of the square. We thought our breakfast was actually very good. You sit in the front lobby area of the hotel and they give you a tray like an in-flight meal with all your stuff on it. You can get extra top-ups of tea or coffee if you ask. We got the impression of a very busy and well run enterprise which has already spent a reasonable amount on upgrading the rooms and which will no doubt invest more as time goes on. This is truly French. It's not picturesque or touristic at all. Just a two star hotel doing a decent job.
