We just stayed here on our trip to Bayeux. I cannot say enough nice things about the B & B. Carole warmly welcomed us into her house. She recommended places for dinner. The house was spotless, and the beds comfortable. Whatever you do, don’t miss her breakfast, she has everything you would ever want, and nice strong coffee. It was a wonderful way to finish our trip to France. Thank you Carole!

A lovely experience. Carol is  an informative and charming host wanting to ensure her guests are happy. She also serves excellent breakfasts ,home made and full of lovely details. The Clos is within walking distance of key sights in the pretty town of Bayeux but close also to the Normandy D-Day beaches which are so  full of emotion and history.

We had an exceptional stay and so glad we chose this Bed & Breakfast. Carole made us feel so welcome and prepared the most delicious breakfast. Beautifully presented. The house is tastefully decorated and the room was very spacious. Exceptionally clean with a lovely comfortable bed. The gardens are gorgeous and the private parking is a huge bonus. Carole also gave us some great suggestions for our explorations in the surrounding area. The location is absolutely perfect, very quiet and you can just leave your car and walk anywhere in town.  Highly recommend this as a base and can't wait to return.

My husband and I had a lovely stay here! The location is perfect and the place is so charming. We felt very welcome from the moment of arrival and throughout our full stay. Carole provided us with great suggestions for sight seeing as well as dining. Anything we needed she was happy to help.
I adored the petit dejeuner provided and the attention to detail for everything! I would absolutely recommend Clos de Bellefontaine and stay here again if given the opportunity.

OMG what an absolutely stunning place to have booked. Beautifully decorated in a French Country fashion with amazing detail. The pictures on Carole’s site are exactly what I arrived to find which I might add was such a delight as it was the last stay after my 2 month “Remember When Journey” in Europe. 
The breakfasts were so well prepared & my husband always said “it is all in the presentation as it must appeal to the eye before it appeals to the stomach” and it surely did. Clos De Bellafontaine is immaculately clean with clean crisp linens. I occupied the top floor with the 2 single beds & although due to the roof line it did not have a shower but a bath with a shower head  attachment I made it work. Carole, my host has put a lot of thought & money into her business as it truly shows pride of ownership.
While I was there she recommended certain tours which I had fortunately booked ahead of time as well as other activities. You must purchase the renowned “Caramel D’Isigny” to enjoy while there & to bring back home for others enjoyment.
I booked a tour of Mont St Michel with Normandy Sighseeing Tours & tour guide Jonathan who has a degree in history along with his guide’s licence was so amazingly informative. I truly enjoyed his French spirit.
Visited the Bayeux Tapestry which one cannot miss as quite the story of a historical event & of course went through the gift shop only to buy more souvenirs…I will have arm & leg muscles like there is no tomorrow after lugging all my souvenirs.
I shopped @ a poppy store on a side street & purchased children’s Normandy Poppy t-shirts so I could tell the children of the sacrifices of our soldiers for our freedom. The 6 & 4 year olds wore them to school this year for Remembrance Day.

was “Le Moulin De La Galette” . One cannot leave France without enjoying a galette I said!
I then went off to the Art Museum (MAHB) & was given a private tour by Laurence Jean (female) she was so excited about the museum & their acquisitions which she should be. Her first name is the same as my husband’s so I was surprised. I truly enjoyed the sharing of her knowledge.
When walking back I stopped into a needle craft shop “Bayeux Broderie” that creates embroidery kits of the Bayeux tapestries when I saw & bought  a polar bear embroidery kit as my husband had worked in the Canadian Artic amongst the polar bears.
I walked to the British Cemetery which included Canadian soldiers graves and it poured rain which once again reminded me of the soldiers sacrifices as I was soaked to the bone.
As a Canadian I wanted to book a tour which included Juno Beach however as I was not going to be in Normandy on the days of the tours I opted to do the Utah & Omaha tour, the American landing beaches. Gatean was our tour guide from Normandy Sighseeing Tours which once again was another great tour guide. I had wanted to see the American Paratrooper homage of John Steele in St Mère D’Église & did not know how I was going to get there but this was part of the tour.
This is a must see.
Overall one must visit all that Normandy has to offer over several days & what better way is to stay at a First Class Accommodation “Clos De Bellafontaine” Thank you Carole for being such a nice part of my “Remember When Journey”
Being a French Canadian (french not necessary) when I came back to Canada after my 2 month sojourn in Europe several people asked me what was the best part of my trip to which I answered this part.

We stayed at Clos de Bellefontaine as a base to explore Mont St Michel, the Normandy Beaches and the historic town of Bayeux.  It was a perfect location to explore Bayeux - we could walk to all of the towns attractions and restaurants.  Carole was very accommodating, and provided us with several English tour books and helped us whenever we asked.
Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and beautifully presented.  Warm breads, homemade jellies, fresh coffee and juices, and her specialty of the morning were beautifully presented.
Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view of her gardens.  The bathroom was spacious as well.  I will definitely return when I go back to Northern France.

This is a lovely, small, beautifully run B and B; perfectly located.  Carole the host is wonderful.  I can’t recommend this place highly enough.  If you’re in Bayeux, this is a perfect place to stay.  And, the breakfasts are amazing.

Clos de Bellefontaine is a perfect place to stay for a visit to Bayeux and the Normandy beaches. The house is beautifully restored and comfortable and is just a short walk from the historic centre of Bayeux. Carole is a wonderful host. So welcoming and she couldn't do enough to help us organise our excursions to the beaches and around the town. The breakfasts were amazing and so beautifully presented. All in all a wonderful stay.

The location is perfect, very quiet but only a short walk to the centre of Bayeux.
The house is beautifully decorated and our bedroom was lovely with a very comfortable large bed.  Breakfast was delicious and there were also drinks and treats available in the guest sitting room.  Carole was very welcoming and provided lots of information and help regarding places to visit.  There were tables and chairs to enjoy the garden, and parking for the car behind locked gates.  We would love to stay again.

Perfect stay in Bayeux.

If going to the Normandy region of France, this is the place to stay. The host, Carole, is welcoming and informative. She gave us maps and even helped with dinner reservations. The breakfast was amazing with fresh pastries and homemade jams. In fact, we had an early departure train and Carole accommodated us by getting up early and packing a to-go bag of goodies. Our room, “Normandy “, was spacious and immaculate. The location is perfect from the train station and to walk to the beautiful town of Bayeux.

Excellent B&B

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carole was a wonderful host and was always willing to give recommendations and answer questions. Her breakfasts were great - especially the French toast. She also served jam made from her garden fruit. The location was good and easily walkable into the heart of town. We only wish we had more time to spend in Bayeux. One note - you will need to carry luggage upstairs as the rooms are on the second and third floor. This was not an issue for us but wanted to mention. We would highly recommend and would stay again.
