Le Jardin de Mazan

This is a fabulous place with lovely owners. It feels like a quiet oasis. We were there during a heatwave (40 degrees) but inside the rooms felt beautifully cool. We stayed in the museum room which was large, the bed was big and super comfortable. There’s a bath in the room (something my husband really wanted) and I made the assumption that there would be a walk in shower. But there isn’t, instead it’s a hand held shower in the bath so you can feel quite on display showering in the room and I didn’t master the art of not getting water everywhere.I didn’t have the breakfast but my husband said it was delicious, especially the eggs. They also do a dinner once a week which we’d read excellent reviews on. We didn’t have the dinner since it was very hot and we were having one small meal a day (this was 3 courses for €45). I felt that the owners were a little offended that we weren’t eating breakfast or the dinner. It wasn’t anything personal, just small appetites! There’s also a billiards table and board games which was fun in the evenings. Two small points to flag - there are x4 parking spaces outside the property and it’s not guaranteed that you will get a spot. But you can park nearby. You may also want a smaller car for the narrow streets. Also, worth noting that we got quite a few bites outside by the pool in the afternoon so remember some bug repellent.
