Chateau De Marigna

We have passed the Jura so many times on our way to and from Southern France that we decided that this year we have to finally see it. After a lot of search, we found the Château de Marigna. It was the best place we could find on the web, and after being there for a week I do not think we could have found a better location. It was clear that from the location in the southern part of the Jura that for some destinations in the north we would have to drive a little further, but in turn we got to live in a gîte in a castle. In fact, as the season there basically was over, we had the whole wonderful castle all to ourselves. The weather was unseasonably wonderful and warm most days, the gîte (we had rented the Gîte de Pierre) was spotless, comfortable, the equipment modern and working without a problem. The welcome by the owner, Pierre, was warm and friendly, and we were very, very well taken care of - he was there every day should we have a question, and available on the phone or per WhatsApp at any time should we have a problem. I can only recommend the Château de Marigna, it was a wonderful experience. The only drawback was that - since we came basically in after season - the restaurant and the hotel both were closed. Also, we might have been a bit atypical since we were seeing the sights of Jura and thus away every day. Next time when we are there we will also enjoy one of the château's main atteacrions: The peace and quiet on the wonderful castle grounds. We will also use the pool, which was closed already this year because nobody could expect October to be that warm and perfect. If you love old castles, clean air, starry nights like you haven't seen before, peace, quiet, trees and rivers and lakes, and don't mind driving a few minutes more to see some of the attractions, this is the place to come to. It is only 50 km or so from the Geneva airport so even from overseas easy to reach. You will be so very well taken care of. Thank you, Pierre, we had a wonderful time!
