Chantal is a nice hostess with a big heart like there are few. Her establishment is comfortable, each room has a TV and a private bathroom. We don't need a car, we even had a garage. We did everything on foot because the cable car and metro are nearby.

The lights of Lyon

We were very disappointed. The room we occupied was old. Bathroom with toilet area of about 4m2 not accessible by the room Necessity to cross a common corridor with several rooms. Very low-end toilet products (entry-end distributor brand) that you are not obliged to use but quality products are always appreciated. Drinks were available, which once again would have been appreciated but outdated chocolate drink. Very poorly sounded, we could hear our neighbors' recommendations though.

Lack of comfort in the bedroom and toilets

Very well located room with superb view, private entrance, very complete breakfast and very nice hostess. The reception is perfect and there is even free parking nearby. Excellent price-quality ratio.

Very good value for money and very nice hostess

Madame Chantal greeted us very kindly. Small, clean, very individually designed rooms. Toilet and shower are a step up the hall. Everything very quiet. Free WiFi. And in the morning breakfast was very delicious. We were there for two nights on our journey. If you're lucky there's also a free parking space outside the door. If you're a bit good on foot you can explore a lot of Lyon.

Nice B+B...

Warning! This B&B is up a huge hill.
We certainly didn't mind the massive hill as the views were fantastic, the walk through the Basilica gardens is lovely and we were in no rush. 
The room we stayed in was small, but that was fine with us. It was clean, with a TV, radio and chest of draws- the best was very comfortable. You have your own bathroom and toilet which is opposite your room via the corridor. Again, not a problem at all.
The breakfast was typically French- a yoghurt, pain au chocolat, bread and peaches... Served in the owner's lovely shared space.
We were made to feel very welcome.
Our one night cost €76- great value.
I recommend this B&B- especially if you like walking up and down massive hills! 

Top of the world - well, Lyon 

Located on the high ground of Lyon, next to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, with stunning views of Lyon, easy access and free parking a few metres away. The place is ideal. The gentleman who received us was very pleasant. The room is small, but has all the comforts needed. On the other hand, we have to share the bathroom between the two rooms to rent. In our case everything went very well but if we had stayed more than one night, I think it might have bothered me.

What you ask a B&B to do:

Super welcome by a charming gentleman, super well situated on the heights of old Lyon and no car parking (rare free place) Right room with bathroom in the hallway I regret that it is not equipped with a couch but with a simple sheet and very obsolete blanket Insonisation just correct.....but it is certainly not necessary to have slightly noisy neighbors The price is extremely correct (72€ for two) because ideally located but fat bemool....Lunch!! for the bread can be home (I doubt) but the chocolate breads and croissants bought in the supermarket (jac) in a bag NO, idem for low-end yogurt (first price cartridge) And the low-end fruit and chocolate strawberries that the owner charmedly offered was very interesting...

Location and price

Since I am not a regular in Bed Years Breakfast, it will be difficult for me to be objective... I have spent a pleasant three-night stay with my daughter. The apartment is ideally located in a quiet, garbage-free street just below the Basilica of Fourvières and just above the Gallo Roman Theatre. The two funiculars are close by and it takes little time to get down to Old Lyon. After a long day of walking it is easy to take a break at the end of the afternoon and 'drop down' to dinner. I confirm that the 3 rooms are small and there is little storage Bathroom and common wc but a very own city. Anyway there are two bathrooms with wc for three rooms and the dining room as it occupies 3 rooms. So let's take a look at this very interesting hotel, which is very convenient for you to get to know and enjoy.

Ideally placed

I booked Home Sweet Home on line after looking at the web-site.  It took a couple of e-mails back and forth to get a room with private bath (which was across the hall from our room . . .which worked just fine).  Chantal does not speak much English and I do not speak French, so I think that was some of the confusion.
  We arrived by train from Paris, took the subway and the funicular and found the location fairly easily. (Chantal had given us limited directions) We travel with limited luggage which was good for getting to the location because of the elevation. There is no commercial businesses in the area (except for two restaurants). The fantastic Gallo Roman Musee is just across the street.  It is a hike to get to Vieux Lyon but the funicular is convenient. The room was on the small size, but very adequate.  Chantal makes her bread for breakfast since there is not boulangerie on the hill.  She has lived in Africa and has used her African collection in her decor.  She is a quiet woman, but could not do enough for us during our stay.  Her dog Charlie is very well behaved!

Pleased with Home Sweet Home B & B

We had a very nice experience with Home Sweet Home. The rooms were small, but very nicely equipped. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The host was very welcoming and warm, it was very nice to speak to her. Breakfast was simple, but good. 

I think, it was a good price for what it offers. I would recommend for people travelling on budget.
