Le Vermondois

We were going down to Spain from the South of Wales, and decided on spec that this hotel - 6 milles from the Motorway looked good. It was. From the moment we arrived I felt welcomed. My husband and I were included in the local banter, OK it does help speaking some French, but the locals and the owner, plus partner made us well welcome. As my husband said "Old France" We were asked if we would like to take our dog off his lead, and he played happily with the resident Lab. I also was able to take him out, off the lead, and he had a wonderful walk through the quiet lanes. We had dinner, not in the restaurant - we were the only residants, but in the bar - we were asked which we would prefere. Dinner was good from the starter of charcuterie through Saucisson to fromage. The wine that accompanied the meal was nice as well. The room we stayed in, with a balcony , was very clean, comfrotable, clean and quiet. Maybe a sat nav would help finding the hotel, and you do have to drive carefully, but I would like to return to this warm heared and lovely hotel.
