Center Parcs Les Bois-Francs

We have just moved on after a 5 night stay at Center Parcs Normandy and had such a wonderful time I was minded to write my first review! From start to finish everything was just as we hoped, no fussing at reception waiting to be checked in we were greeted in our car at the barriers by a nice chap who took note of our car reg and then gave us our wristbands-super easy. We stayed in a VIP cottage, just lovely-super comfy beds, clean modern finish,jacuzzi bath and our very own sauna which we hadn’t been expecting but all very nice! We were staying with our three little girls (7,4 and 2) so hired bikes to facilitate travel between our cottage and the dome and other activities-these were £107 for 5 days which was the total cost for 2 adult bikes, one double trailer and two children’s bikes and helmets-worth every penny, the girls loved racing around on them. There was lots to do and we didn’t manage everything but really enjoyed the pony rides, little farm, kids safari (hilarious insight into teaching the girls to drive when they’re older!), kids zone and game zone. A real highlight was the aqua mondo-just the most fun for the children, busy but brilliant there is a (surprisingly strong) wave machine which comes on periodically which has the girls in hysterics, a lazy river (I read someone suggest that the current isn’t significant but rest assured if that were the case it has been now rectified ) the rope swing was great fun and all in all it was so good we didn’t actually even notice that there was a huge children’s area just round the corner with giant kids water park and slides until our last day! Lots of mentions in other reviews about cost of food offerings, obviously this is subjective but we found everything to be extremely reasonable particularly as the cost of staying there was half the cost of staying in the UK equivalent. We had fast food from the burger place-really tasty well cooked food all in at £37 for a family of five including drinks, ice creams and play packs for the children.We ordered pizzas to take away on another night and they were £13 each with three easily feeding all of us. The shop was more expensive than the supermarket around the corner (approximately 10 minutes drive) but not outlandish-we picked up something from there every day having done a “big shop “ at the supermarket at the beginning of our stay. Lots of baked goods available for between £1-1.50 all cooked fresh on site. If you’ve booked and been concerned by the negative reviews please don’t panic, it’s really lovely, you’ll have a wonderful time in the beautiful woodlands of Normandy.
