Very nice, simple hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great European breakfast, with a good selection of items. Well located along the Camino - just 10 minutes from the church (unless you get lost, which is easy to do). Beds were comfortable, massive bathroom. Obviously we did not go the dorm route. 

Well located hotel and friendly staff

Our first night on Compostelle. Very warm and helpful welcome. Good price. Very conveniently located for restaurants and Compestelle. Great value breakfast. Only slightly less positive aspect - a very small room in guesthouse with 3 bunk beds, all occupied with friendly people. All available space already taken by backpacks, poorly illuminated, and approx 35°c. Slept with window slightly open due to high temperature...window opened onto pavement on busy noisy road junction. Sleeping was a challenge.

This hotel is located on your way out of town if you are walking the G65 route. Great room, great facilities. Newly updated and decorated. Really an excellent choice. The only negative is the late check-in times for someone traveling from far. 

Best location if you do the Le Puy camino

Booked in a rush as very little choice which, it transpires, was due to a professional cycle race. As I am disabled using sticks I struggled with stairs without rails, a blocked ramp and a challenging spiral staircase. The room was clean and functional with further stairs to the bed on the mezzanine. Disabled parking at this time 300 meters away. Good wifi. Bar and breakfast but no evening fare. Le Puy also hilly. For pilgrims these are not important criticisms!

I should have been more careful!

I stayed here to begin the Camino de Santiago/Chemin de St. Jacques pilgrimage. The location is good, on the Camino itself and within easy walking distance of downtown. The bed is comfortable, and there is a full bathroom for each dorm room (2 bunk beds, 2 single beds). They give you the access code to enter after hours. There is a modest kitchen and dining area for those who prepare their own food. The (optional) breakfast is good and equivalent to others at that price in France (i.e. overpriced), although I regret it opens late (for hikers' programs): I attended the Pilgrim's Mass at the Cathedral and only after that could break my dedicated march for breakfast on my way out of town.

So why do I rate such a fine place "poor"? Because it serves a mixed clientele, and the two with whom I shared a room were truck (lorry) drivers. One had taken over all the furniture (and much of the free space) for his own TV so he could view it from his bed. The other came in after midnight, failed to awaken to his 4:30AM alarm which woke me nor the two repeats at 5 minute intervals. He did awaken to the phone call at 5, to which he urgently responded by hastily and noisily gathering all his possessions scattered around the room and leaving. 

This is the only gîte I visited in 2+ months on the Camino in which dorm rooms  are assigned by sex. In an establishment with this mixed clientele the proper segregation would have been pilgrims and tourists versus truckers, each group having its own special hours. I compliment them for their physical facilities but downgrade the establishment's policy for the terrible experience that other pilgrims may share.

Accommodations good, but mixed clientele in dorms detracts from ability to rest.

A nice little hotel on the way out of town.  I liked my stay here as the room was comfortable but there was no working wifi, and the breakfast was not very impressive.  Even paying the additional five euros didn't get me much.... about the same or a little less than I got anywhere else on my stay.

Very basic hotel with a very industrial feel. Good view of statue from room. Staff not particularly welcoming and breakfast facilities lacking. Room OK: large and nice bathroom, hard uncomfortable bed.

Very glad of onsite parking, however not overly secure.
