Residence Le Bec De L'Aigle

Recently spent a few nights here and was very impressed with everything- Its cleanliness, Its ideal location for the resort and above all the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff especially the proprietor "Gilet". The room had plenty of space and a beautiful view of the mountain to the rear. The kitchenette was equipped with a microwave and coffee machine and all the cutlery and crockery needed. No toaster and for good reason! Toast is banned! (I assume because of past smoke detector issues) NB-We didn't find any supermarket within resort so if you do want to self cater, even if only for breakfast juice etc. then buy all you need before you arrive at resort. We had Breakfast there one morning and this was excellent value and quality. The bar closes early on weekdays when the hotel was practically empty but the hotel gets busy on weekends. There's adequate free parking to the front and rear of hotel and a secure locker for ski equipment in the basement. There's a Bar with an open fire and plenty of information leaflets and maps. Indeed "Gilet" went through all the details with me on arrival. Where to eat out, where to buy lift passes and how best to access the mountain and slopes. This was all in slow, easy French with pauses to assure an accord. I'm not sure if my French language skill is so good that the need didn't arise or whether He and everyone else in resort doesn't speak a single word of English. I'll assume the former and enjoy the compliment. In the four days there we didn't hear a single word spoken so non francophones take note! I would recommend this hotel to all and will return there myself .
