Great location in Il de Re. Very helpful staff. Great accommodation very clean and comfortable. Great swimming pool indoors and outdoors with a play area for younger children. Easy access to bike hire

We found the site clean / accessible for the beach / quiet.  Our mobile home had a terrace partly in the shade and partly in the sun which was perfect.  With teenage sons the fact that we had wi-fi was brilliant (ten euros for unlimited access per device for the week).  You can also hire bikes at the site for slightly cheaper than in the centre. My sons enjoyed the swimming pool and table tennis.  Bring your own bedding / towels and you are sorted.   Takeaway available at the restaurant - pizza / burgers / mussels (at an amazing 9 euros for huge tub of chips and mussels) friendly staff - I would definitely recommend. 

We have just returned home following a great stay at Camping Le Suroit. The mobile home we stayed in was clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were quite small, and as we didn’t have a car it meant that cases had to be stored in the living room. This wasn’t much of an issue as the weather was lovely so we spent most of our time out on the decking. The site had great facilities to keep children entertained and you can hire bikes directly. The only member of staff we really spoke to was Paul, who was really helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend to friends.

 The campsite was located about a 5-10  minute walk to the beach and the facilities such as pool and bar/restaurant were very good. The inclusion of the heated indoor pool was great ! The campsite had separate bbq facilities at the front of the mobile site due to fire safety regulations but nonetheless it was great to have. 

The mobile itself was fantastic. It had a wonderful larged covered deck to protect it from pine needles and dropping cones and it was a lovely extension to the mobile with comfortable chairs and dining set. The mobile beds were comfortable but the single beds were quite narrow for adults. However, the mobile was spotless and following an inventory check everything was included. The mobile also had a TV which was great. One thing I feel that could be beneficial to the mobile home is the addition of a kettle/tea pot but we managed just fine with a pot to boil water.

Bikes are an essential on the island and we hardly used the car (although handy for a couple of trips to place further away). The proximity of this site to the beach, local restaurants and the Le Bois-Plage town centre and markets was ideal. The campsite has a very small shop and baked goods can be purchased each morning. WiFi for one device is included in the cost but additional wifi can be bought for a small fee (8 euro for 7 days). 

I would highly recommend this campsite to everyone (young and older families).



We had a great holiday in this lovely campsite- The mobile home was comfortable, 
modern and clean and a large covered terrace. The pools were lovely and well maintained. The restaurant served lovely food that was reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful! We had no car but hired bikes which was a perfect way to see the island!

Went for a birthday weekend 9-11 June. Would recommend a Prestige Chalet. It was clean, modern and well equipped. The site is large and placements are close, but chalets with their large verandas allow for some privacy. Had pizzas on final night at the campsite restaurant, they ere cooked fresh to order and very good value.

we camped in a van for a week - sandy pitches with flowers and shade - perfect! the pool is new and pleasant for cooling down (though not very deep if you really wanted to swim) and the indoor pool was a nice backup option although we didn't really use it as we had good weather. the beach is great with fun waves but watch out for sand fleas. there's very little vegetarian choice at the restaurant, which was also quite pricey. hand soap in the sanitaries would be an improvement.

Good site, lovely and clean facilities. Didn’t feel too safe alone in the shared shower facilities, lucky hubby was next door. We needed a bigger plot as we were towing a trailer with car. Only space we could fit was next to toilet emptying facilities.

We stayed in a middle-of-the-range mobile home. All was clean and in good condition. A small repair was fixed very promptly on reporting. The site is well kept, the outdoor swimming pool has been recently rebuilt and so is very clean and in good repair. A reasonable walk of 10 minutes to either beach and shops/market. Staff were helpful and polite. Site is very family friendly and is quiet in the evening and at lunchtime so if you want a peaceful stay this is it. If you want more fun and entertainment the campsite at the bottom of the road near the beach had more lively evening entertainment. We were unable to hire children's bike at the campsite but were directed to Beach Bikes who were able to supply us with bikes for all the family. All in all a pleasant stay in a peaceful (for August) location.

We stayed at this campsite for two weeks in August. The location is excellent.  We hired a car from La Rochelle airport, but it wasn’t necessary. Kids and adult bikes are available to hire from the campsite.  Bois Plage beach and village are both very easy short cycle rides away.  The beach is excellent and didn’t get too crowded.  On some days it was wavy - great for body boarding.  
We also used the local buses. Timetables are available from the tourist information in the village.  The local buses were free and there are special ones that will take bikes on a trailer.  On a rainy day we took the bus into La Rochelle and went to the aquarium. 
We stayed in one of the privilege mobile homes, which was excellent.  It was spotlessly clean on arrival.  There was a nice open plan living/kitchen area and a lovely spacious decking area.  The reception staff were friendly, helpful & spoke excellent English.  The pools (although not massive) were clean and attractively laid out.  We never had a problem finding a free lounger.  The restaurant was very welcoming.  Just remember to book at the weekends, as it does get busy.  There is also a takeaway service.  Some reviews have noted the cleaning fee.  This wasn’t a problem for us.  The information is provided clearly  in the mobile home.  The relevant fees are given, which you can choose to pay or instructions are given on what cleaning is required.  
Even in August, the atmosphere was peaceful. If you are looking for a quiet family beach holiday, this campsite would be an excellent choice.

We rented a little house in the camping which was just enough for us 4 yet couldn’t really have our suitcases in the house.
The activities are numerous and interesting.
The pool is nice but quiet often very crowded.
The location of the camping is really central to the beach and the town with daily markets and attractions nearby.
