Domaine des Grottes, a family owned property since 1729, turned hotel half a decade ago. All by the hand of its owner Madame Barcot. Trained architect and with an eye for aesthetics, the interior design is sublime. This place has been perfected and carefully renovated to keep with old and bring in new. Thought and investment has gone into making this an environment friendly habitat. Solar panels, organic produce together with locally sourced produce brings this place into the next century ahead of its peers. Situated in fields of vine, comfortably large grounds, cooling pool and a gated entrance you find what you need just here. Should you want to wander to the local village of La Motte, there’s a few restaurants with surprisingly high standard of local cuisine. Madame B had perfected the art of balance and where ever your eye decides to rests the details surrounding this place are where they should -and still being able to surprise. Not compromising on material or standard. This woman knows it all. Should you care to join in for lunch or dinner, you would find Madame B working her magic in the kitchen. Which leads me onto the collective description of this place; Magical. She has a kind soul Madame B, and you will be looked after with equal measures. And did I mention there’s a donkey with the shiniest fur I’ve ever seen?
