Résidence Odalys Les Océanides

I stayed at les oceanides for a conference I was attending. I arrived via train from Nice and had to take a cab, which was more expensive than expected (~$80). However, as soon as I arrived I saw the benefits to the location. You truly feel removed from city life or pressures but there are restaurants, stores, etc that are walkable from the grounds. Walking along dirt roads to the beaches or to pick up cheese, wine and bread for snacks (the full kitchens are great on vacation!) reminded me of being young again, but in a much more picturesque location than where I grew up :) The room was perfect, I was sharing with a friend and there was a separate bedroom as well as a pull-out couch. We had group meals that were certainly the best I have had at a conference- the staff even took pity on my and taught me how to de-bone a fish (fish with bones in pictures). The old buildings on the hill (very short hike from the main buildings) included an old observatory and had wonderful views. We walked down to a boat that goes over to Pequerelles islands to get an additional day of beach fun. I was not there with family but it seems that it would be a perfect place for a family vacation or for people who want to truly relax and get away.
