Convenient location close to town centre.Michel was a wonderful host.Everything we could have wanted was provided for our overnight stay.

I have been working in Montpellier for six months and needed a place for three nights after my longer term lease expired.  Le Clos Chez Michel was perfect.  The location is a 3-4 minute walk to the train station (Saint-Roch), a 5-6 minute walk to at least two different tram stops (Saint-Roch and Du Guesclin), and a 7-8 minute walk to the main downtown plaza (Comédie).  The owner, Michel, lives upstairs and has obviously taken great care to ensure that the establishment is well maintained, both inside and out.  My in-room bathroom had been recently remodeled, the bed was comfortable, the room was dark at night and quiet, the in-room air conditioner worked well and gave me control over the temperature setting, the breakfast was excellent, guests have access to a well equipped and also up-to-date kitchen, and there's a nice enclosed outdoor garden with seating as well. Michel is a delightful host who not only cheerfully allowed both me and my luggage to hang around until mid-afternoon because I had a late-day flight but who also called a taxi for me and rolled my big suitcase to the cab.  In short, it's a great place, far preferable in my view to the hotels I considered at comparable and even higher price points.  I look forward to a return visit in the future.  Thanks!

Suzi and I had a lovely stay in Michel’s b&b. Comfortable room and an excellent continental breakfast. Michel was a fantastic host and gave us some great suggestions for where to go during our short stay in Montpellier. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful welcome from an excellent host. Michel was super helpful, very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English. His home is lovely as is the courtyard. The room is was large and comfortable. Parking was possible off street in a private garage. Breakfast was simple - croissants, bread and his home made marmalade 👌 

The location is just a very short walk from the station and the old town. 

The only negative for us was the noise from adjacent rooms - doors slamming and toilets/shower which can’t be helped but it didn’t lead to restful sleep. Other than that, everything was perfect and we would go back again (but with ear plugs).

A centrally-situated B&B with a pleasant and helpful proprietor.  The room was clean and spacious. Wi-fi efficient. The bathroom and toilet are shared. The breakfast was good, too. The B&B is a very short walk from Montpellier St Roche and close to several eating places.

Superb holiday. So central. Lots of possibilities to suit all tastes, the old town, the new architecture, the walks along the river, the short bus ride to the freshwater lakes and the beaches and so many bars and restaurants where you can absorb french culture ( and wine).But the best feature by far is Michel, the owner. A font of information.  Nothing is ever too much and he clearly loves his job and particularly meeting people from all parts of the world. A real gem. Thank you Michel.Best wishes Brian  and Jill

This is a great property very close to the train station and all of the major sights. It is in a very quiet neighborhood. Breakfast has a good selection of breads and fruits and the fridge in the kitchen has a selection of yoghurts and water. There are three rooms and the one we had had a shared bathroom. I think that some of the other rooms had their own toilet but our room did not. This was not an issue during our stay, just something to be aware of. The host is extremely friendly and helpful and likes to share the important features of Monpellier.

My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's during the past several years, and have never encountered a host as agreeable, professional, pleasant, helpful, and interesting a host as Michel.He is a joy and really what makes Le Clos Chez Michel special. Every day he helped us with planning and developing routes for our adventures. Almost every evening we would share these adventures with him.Additionally the property is positioned really in a perfect spot, 2 blocks to the train station, perhaps a ten minute walk to the Place de La Comedie. We had originally rented a car (which Michel helped me park in his garage), but ditched it after 3 days since it was just more fun to either walk or take a train from the station.Michel, thanks for everything!

Ideal B&B. Friendly and very helpful host Michel. Great French classic breakfast. Great location near the train station. Few minutes walk from Place de la Comedie. Would definitely go back if i had the opportunity

A beautiful bijoux house in a great location with the perfect host.

Our host Michel was fabulous! He was very informative… Giving us all kinds of information about Montpelier. He had suggestions on how to get to the beach, good recommendations for restaurants and our favorite part was talking with him over breakfast. He had a lovely garden and made orange marmalade from his own oranges and served it with our lovely breakfast. It was wonderful! We stayed for four days and would have loved to have stayed longer. There’s no question that we would stay here again when in Montpellier.

Fabulous Host

This property exceeded my expectations. It is very convenient, being 2 blocks from the train station (if you exit the back way), there is a good boulangerie and even better charcuterie another block on, if you want to skip the restaurant scene. The old town is close by, being another few blocks beyond the from side of the train station. My room was furnished very nicely, with a large bed, comforter, lots of pillows, and nice artwork. Really a great room - I would be comfortable staying there for an extended period of time. The full bath was very nice with strong water pressure in the full length shower and a working heated towel rack. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The breakfast was a decent continental. Best of all the property had a beautiful garden out back where one can sit outside, contemplate the greenery, and access the wifi. Owner Michel is friendly and helpful.

Wonderful little place

The owner is a fantastic fellow who will tell you all about Montpellier and give recommendations. He keeps a nice B&B - three rooms - in his family home of a few generations and lays out a nice spread for breakfast in the mornings with homemade jam. The only downside is a shared bathroom, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s a great location for getting around Montpellier.

This is one of the best B&B I've stayed at, the location is amazing it's just a 2-min walk to the railway station and a 10-min walk to the city's points of interests. Michel the host is very friendly, helpful, he came to chat during breakfast time and gave me lots of insights. The best highlight is the breakfast, Michel prepared it himself, everything is well set on the dining table, the yoghurt and milk is in the fridge, i love the croissants, pain au chocolates and the marmalades are homemade, the fruits are from the garden. Oh and Michel provides drinking water in bottles, with option of cold ones in the fridge and room temperature in thr pantry, this is amazing!

Definitely stay here if you're in Montpellier!

The B&B is a very short walk from the train station. From upstairs, you need to exit at the back of the train station. There is a small balcony with an elevator, the street you see from the balcony is the street you need to walk down. The B&B is very well presented and the host, Michel is extremely friendly & helpful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and quite spacious, beds were very good. Bathroom also very clean and a reasonable size with good water flow. Breakfast was in the kitchen at a large table, here you get to meet other guests. Breakfast was good and was served by Michel. There kitchen & facilities can also be used by guests, which was great if you wanted tea or coffee or to eat in. All attractions were very easy to get to from here, Michel provides you with a reasonable map (many B&B's did not provide maps) and highlights main attractions. Overall a very good stay with a great host. Would definitely go back to this B&B.
