The owner is far from warm. There are banners on one door at a time in the house. Well, we have the strict minimum: no god in the bathroom, no shampoo, no TV, we have a bar fare but where's the bar?... At 8:30 a.m., breakfast, but alone, everything is on the table. We couldn't feel comfortable. The place is nice but not welcoming.

All at a discount

The site is pleasant, it has its peculiarities but it is a Bad and Breakfast, that is not a hotel. A limited but correct breakfast, with a little effort, can be significantly improved. The place is phenomenal, if you can park nearby without problems and total independence. It is quite clean.

The owner was very unpleasant!!!! We regretted having chosen this establishment during our stay.

Very bad experience

         Here is the good part. This building is quaint.  Breakfast was simple, but nice: coffee,juice, bread,croissants. Here is the bad news. The rooms looked clean, but we had ants in the bathroom. There was no hot water. Most importantly, there is bad security. The door to the house locks, but the rooms themselves do not have locks on the door. You cannot even secure yourself in the room once you are inside.  I had to take my valuables with me when I went out for dinner as there was no way to secure them in the room.  I blocked the door with a chair to feel a little safer while I slept at night, but I felt vulnerable.  
     The next morning when I went back to my room to change clothes after breakfast, the owner suddenly burst into the room without even knocking.  What an invasion of privacy. She said she thought I had left without giving in the front door keys.  Still not an excuse. While she was apologetic, I feel it is my duty to warn other travelers about the lack of privacy and security. 

There Ate No Locks on the Door to Your Room

A very kind but pleasant Tobby. The least: the breakfast served at 8:30 am! it's early. On the day of departure after talking to the hostess at breakfast, isn't it just that at 10:15 am she comes knocking at the door to remind us that we must return the keys at 10 am! when no one is pressing and no one is pointing his nose at the horizon! It's a shame to end up with a negative impression.

Visiting Giverny was somewhat of a last minute idea for us.  Realizing that June is the height of tourist season, I booked the only two bedroom family suite I could find in the village and did not read the reviews; my mistake.

We left Germany in good time to arrive during the check-in window.  Due to accidents, it took us almost three hours to get through the Paris area.  We kept our host informed about our progress, or lack of.  She grudgingly agreed to wait until 8:00 for us.  We got there at 8:02, all was well.  The host hurriedly checked us in and left.

We had the ground floor family two room suite.  The rooms were clean and beds comfortable.  Shower and sink in one room, commode and sink in another.  Shower was barely tepid; towels were the size of hand towels.

There is a comfortable communal sitting room.  Wi-Fi is good.

A communal breakfast was served at 8:30.
Breakfast the first morning:  breads, one hard boiled egg and plain yogurt per person, margarine, jam, OJ, coffee or tea.  Second morning: crescent roll,  pain a’chocolate, macaroons, one slice of Swiss cheese/person, margarine, jam, OJ, coffee, or tea.

Cash only.  Check-out at 10:00.
Free parking is on the street in front of the house.

I thought the €250/night expensive for the quality of stay.  This was not the B&B experience I have enjoyed throughout Europe.

Think Twice

We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and the room was spacious and comfortable. The magnificent garden, remarkably maintained, contributes in particular to the awakening by the singing of the birds, to the tranquility of the place. We will return.

A pleasant and restful stay.

It could be a charming house! But the owner didn't realize that her hosts were her guests and runs her establishment like a barracks!

It's too bad.

Very warm welcome. Very good typical French breakfast. Close to the centre of Giverny. Charming house. The garden is very nice. The owners were very kind. In short, we loved it.

The asking price (145€) for the double room with SDB (i.e. one of the most beautiful) is totally out of step with the service: arrival time is late (after 3pm), and departure time in the morning (you have to leave before 10am, or even rather at 9:30am on Sunday!), no key to the room, no gel shower or shampoo in the Sdb, the towels smell bad, it needs to be cold and the very basic little meme is on schedule. We literally put ourselves at the door because the guest is in the house and needs his privacy. We couldn't take advantage of the clear reason why we had chosen this place.
