France is littered with historical places of interest, but this ancient site is unique as you can also stay in one of their rooms. We stayed over one night after a music show on the night, which included a pot-luck dinner. The attendees were extremely friendly and it was a hugely convivial evening. The Abbaye owners are a wonderful couple, lovingly seeking to restore the site, and who are also very friendly and engaging. The following morning, we came down for breakfast, and were still there chatting three hours later. There is a great restaurant 2 minutes walk, and it is a good place to base yourself to walk/bike around. A little gem on all fronts.
