We loved CosyCamp so much! A fantastic two week stay in a cottage which was beautifully clean and had plenty of room for the family, including a comfy veranda and two powerful showers. 

The children adored the pool and our son spent two weeks cycling around on one of the camp bikes and toasting marshmallows by the fire in the evening. The restaurant on site was delicious, and we loved borrowing kayaks to play on the Loire, and the on-site zip wires, which we did twice! We also enjoyed feeding the animals!

Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful, and Sophie and Richard have built a creative and colourful space which is relaxing, charming, and full of magic moments. We adored it! 

We had great days out at Puy en Velay, climbing up to the castle at Artias, and paddle boarding on Lac du Bouchet. This is such a gorgeous part of the world with amazing views from the campsite. We will be back again!

Perfect place right by the Loire. Really nice vibe and ethos. Great pool and bar. Zip lines fun. Staff and owners warm and friendly. Nice mix of Dutch, German, French and British guests. No shop so bring plenty of supplies. 

Our second time back to CosyCamp, the site is excellent for families, especially for children, there is a really relaxing ambiance around the whole facility, Stephanie, Richard and their team are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

If you have kids, and looking for somewhere safe for them, with lots of activities, with wonderful surroundings and plenty of things to do then look no further….book today !!

Cosy Camp is a wonderful campsite that I almost don’t want to rave about for fear of not being able to get a return visit booked!

We had a Nature pitch with no electric, on the bank of the Loire with plenty of shade (we requested a shady pitch there are some that bask in the sunlight all day) The campsite was full and while there were people around us we had plenty of space and never felt on top of other families. 

The campsite has a very relaxed feel, there are no cars on the site, trolleys are free to use to move tents etc to your pitch. The children (8 + 5) enjoyed cycling around on their own bikes and the communal bikes. They made friends during the evening football games and at the swing ball and table football table. The site attracts friendly sociable families from across Europe. We enjoyed using the free canoes and jumping off them into the river. The zip wires across the Loire (booked separately but on site) are also great fun. 

The swimming pool is great, it got busier later in the day and is definitely a fun pool full of inflatables, ball games and water pistols, not one for a gentle relaxed swim unless you get in early! 

We got caught in a storm one day and were grateful of the family room, with board games and some toys for the children to play with and somewhere to shelter that wasn’t our tent! Staff also came round tents to check that everyone was ok. 

We enjoyed pastries and bread from the local bakery - ordered the evening before.
The cafe food is good, there are different menus depending on the day of the week, we had pizzas, burgers and salads and great chips while we were there and plenty of ice cream! 

There are plenty of hot showers and clean toilets. The only thing we struggled with was the amount of wasps but that’s par for the course when camping!

We had a wonderful week and will almost certainly return.

Camping at cosycamp is a delight! The campsite is really spacious and our children kan play everywhere, since the campsite is auto-free. Richard, Sophie and their team are really friendly and they will help you with everything.

This is the second time we've stayed here (the last was in 2015) and it was just as lovely as before. Still my favourite campsite in France.
This year felt particularly wonderful as it was such a contrast when coming from Lockdown England (and we now wouldn't be able to go because the new quarantine rules).
Basically, it's got 'classic' campsite stuff i.e. heated pool, toddler pool, bar football table, cafe serving pizza, nice locations for all sorts of camping ( we  brought our own tent, but there were lodge cabins, cabins and placements for people who want electricity as well.), but it's also got an indefinably charming atmosphere.
The location helps a lot: it's a beautiful stretch of the Loire, which just begs to be swum in, but there's a sort of free for all with regard to rules. Not that it isn't Covid compliant (there was hand sanitiser everywhere, the bar staff wear masks etc.), but it's just free. No 'set' time for going to bed, but everyone seems to get on.
My ten year old son loved playing in the impromptu football game that took place each evening; my twelve year old daughter liked wild swimming in the Loire and reading her Kindle in the hammock by the river; my six year old liked pottering about on his bike, and jumping into the pool.
In terms of new developments, there's now a Zipwire facility on the site (though run independently) but that too kind of integrates well into the environment.
It integrates into its location beautifully.
Personally, my experience with Richard who runs the camp is totally positive. And on the one day when a storm was threatened, he and a colleague personally toured the tents making recommendations about where the water could rush through, if it were a massive storm (which it proved not to be).
They go the extra mile.

Lovely campign, beautifully situated with gorgeous views. We loved the atmosphere, there is much to do and everything is relaxed and simple, yet perfectly organized. The frog pond, the marshmallows at the campfire, the canoe to borrow, the swings, pool, the fact there are many games around the campsite. We loved also the safari tent we rented. It was very spacious , comfortable and very well equipped. The restaurant was good, simple dishes but good food. Nice variety, we ate there 6 nights ina row and did not get bored due to the daily dishes. The surroundings are beautiful: nature and culture And very little tourism.

The usual concern - why write a review that will lead to idyllic tranquillity getting busier? Because we were at Cosycamp for what must have been one of their busiest times, and were still in absolute heaven. I was worried two weeks in the one place might wear thin, but there were still so many things we were wishing we'd had time to do. The campsite is thoughtfully designed with fantastic attention to detail, and great care taken in its maintenance. We stayed in a Lodge Cabin which was comfortable, cool despite 30°C and peacefully located at the back of the site. The 3 kids in our group (6, 6 and 8yo), were in great form and more than entertained for the entire time. The combination of no cars, and bikes lying around everywhere lead to hours of some game (there my have been water pistols involved...) leaving us adults with lots of time to read, chat and drink coffee on the shady veranda. Lovely for them to have independence in safe surroundings. The pool is gorgeous, and highlights in the area were canoeing from Monistrol, Son et Lumière in Le Puy, lace museum in Retournac (me not the kids!), the market in Yssingeaux, and the public pools with waterslides/ diving boards in Vorey and Retournac. We'll be back. Just with fairy lights next time.

Beautiful camp site by the river Loire. Choice of rough camping, glamping of small lodge. Not too big. Great base and so many things to do (walking, swimming, zipwire, kayaking, Velorail or jsut sit by the poor). great hosts and fab little restaurant. Very untouristy. Most people seem to return at least once!!

We have just come back from a fantastic fortnight spent in this beautiful spot. The campsite is in a wonderful position next to the river, and many an hour was spent fishing for crayfish, swimming in the river and jumping form rocks. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly.  A Sunday evening 'Welcome drinks' meeting was an excellent opportunity  to be advised of all that was to offer in the area. They were extremely happy to book things on our behalf to save us using our very stilted French..We have a 7 year old and a 5 year old and highlights of the activities away from the campsite included the donkey trek, the velorail - if it wasn't so costly, we would have done it time and again! - and a visit to the lake, where we hired pedalos and the kids enjoyed jumping in .  
The kids made friends easily and a highlight for us was seeing English, Dutch, French and German boys all playing football together without any falling out?!?!?!
We ate in the restaurant three times during the fortnight, the food was lovely. The ice creams and sorbets, made locally ere excellent.
At first we were worried about our pitch being so close to the cafe but our concerns were unfounded as we weren't disturbed by noise at all. The campsite is pretty quiet after 11pm :-).
We would definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely week here in one of the safari tents. Great location on the river bank - kids (16 and 12) went back and forth between the river and the pool . The river is calm and around 75m across so we swam across and the kids jumoed off the rocks on the far side. There is also a canoe and rowing boat you can borrow. Safari tent is really well equipped and they are well laid out so you are not the n to op of your neighbours . I really liked the fact that tge site owners had put games and equipment out for everyone to use - at no additional charge E.g. Archery , basketball and net , table tennis table with bats and balls underneath. There were two open fires lit each night- one on the riverbank end one near the bar restaurant for people to get her round and toast marshmallows . Bar/ restaurant was good and nice setting - indoor area had lots of board games available. No shop on site but you can order bread etc for the morning. The village is an easy 10 minute stroll along the river bank. With young children I could see many were happy to stay on site the whole time . We did two good bike rides - both voie vertes - one from brives charensac which follows an old railway line in goes through  5  tunnels ( great fun) and another along a beautifying gorge again following an on steam railway line. One should also go to le puy en velay and walk up to the church and statue.
Overall it's a beautiful unspoilt region of France , peaceful and almost alpine in feel. If you like nature I would recommend it highly and the campsite owners have done a great job of providing some great amenities in keeping with the surroundings.

Wonderful Spot

Just back from a two week stay at Cosycamp. We stayed here for a fortnight last year too and enjoyed it so much that we went back and persuaded friends to come with us. We were not disappointed. We stayed in a Safari Lodge this time (having stayed in a Canadian Tent last time). The campsite is beautiful and so chilled out. Sophie and Richard are fabulous hosts. The family room with toys for  the kids to play with is good, the pools are clean  and have amazing views.  The camp fires in the evening  are sociable. The stars are incredible on a clear night. Our lodge had a hammock with it which was great for relaxing.  Our kids and our friends' kids (two aged five and two aged three) loved it and the relative freedom they could have on the car-free site. There is loads to do in the surrounding area. I have no hesitation in recommending this campsite.
