Chambres d'Hôtes Le Val Marin

We stayed here for a couple of nights while heading north toward Calais. It's a lovely place - quiet (although you can here some traffic noise at night from the nearby A29 - but it's not intrusive) and set among mature trees. It's actually a modern building and the rooms are clean, warm and comfortable. There's a breakfast room with tea/coffee making facilities (not available in the bedrooms) and the individual tables are set for breakfast every morning - continental breakfast is provided. There's also a kitchen where we were told we could use the fridge if we needed to keep anything cool, but there's also a microwave, oven etc, which I guess you could use if you asked. The owners lie adjacent and there's a note of the front door (which is normally locked0 asking you to call Mme Flambard who promptly appears to welcome you and show you around. Mme Flambard's English isn't great, but then neither is my French, but we just got on with it and had a good laugh - no problem. Honfleur is about ten minutes drive and parking relatively straightforward - if you park in the first car park on the left before you enter the town it's only €4 - the price goes up dramatically after that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend le Val Marin. Merci beaucoup!
