Du Stade

This was the 4th time I've stayed at the Hotel du Stade. First time was in 2002 (as a couple), then twice in 2003 (with a toddler), then again on 2017 (with 2 GTs - grumpy teenagers). I love this place. It looks so utterly dodgy from the outside (the GTs tried to lock themselves in the car) but once you are inside...a thoroughly decent upper-end budget hotel. Family room (12??) this time as we quite like traumatising our kids with loud snoring. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. And quiet given the beer den on the corner. I've never had any issue with getting a security code, and the wifi was good. Normally easy to park on the street outside, and best of all, a mere 5 minute walk and you are in the heart of the stunning Dijon. As we were all abit zonked we chose to eat dinner at the hotel - and just as with the 2003 trip, the food was just lovely. It is limited, a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts (and if you area veggie, look elsewhere), but cooked beautifully. I had fish pie and the husband went for the lamb. Delicious.
