Upon arrival there was no one on reception. Eventually the owner turned up who was a very nice lady and between my little French and Spanish (she was Argentinian) and her little English we sorted my reservation and I was shown to my room. The room was OK, a small bathroom that was adequate although there was no toilet paper at all, a small kitchenette area, that again was adequate although I only used the fridge to chill some water. The bed was comfortable but looking around the room it wasn't very clean with several cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. The TV was tiny and, as you would expect just showing French TV programmes. Again, as you would expect there was no airconditioning but the addition of a small fan would have been well received. However, I was only there for one night to get some sleep before an early start driving up through France to Calais. Dax itself is a beautiful town and would recommend anyone to visit but don't stay at this hotel.

Good location

Spent one night here on the way to Spain with my two young grandchildren. Had a bit of difficulty finding the Studios(Sat/Nav was no help at all). Quiet location, close to the lake. We reserved parking before arrival.
Studio apartment was clean although a little cramped and definitely a little "tired". I was able to provide an evening meal in the fairly well equipped kitchenette.
Children has to sleep in a room accessed by a very steep ladder from our bedroom. Thought it was going to be a problem but they actually coped very well. May be something to consider if you are planning to book here. There was a small balcony which was nice but only really room for two people at a time. Cash seemed to be the only way to pay and I don't think the owner spoke any English. We all had a decent night's sleep and I would probably book again if I was in need of an overnight stopover although I can't imagine staying for longer, not in the room we had anyway.
