Auberge des deux Moucherolles

We are Americans who have been coming to this area for almost 30 years. French friends of ours have had a small studio apartment in Correncon over those years, and they send ALL their visitors to this cozy, welcoming, economical auberge. Quiet, friendly. Fires in the dining room fireplace throughout the day and evening. A little bar and tables inside and out. Surrounded by mountains and meadows. A great breakfast included in the very reasonable price, with lunches and dinners also available. We enjoyed regional specialties at their table. Rooms with knotty pine walls and/or ceilings, spanking clean bathrooms. There's no daily room service (or wasn't during our most recent short stay), but anything I asked for was instantly supplied. They are located near a small farm--my husband heard a cock crow one day-- and are welcoming to families with children--there are games and toys in their parlor. The young couple who have taken on this hotel as of December, 2010, are hard-working, approachable, and English-speaking. We enjoyed their adorable puppy. Such a good value. We will return again, when we are lucky enough to be in the mountain meadows of Vercors.
