Auberge de la Chesnaie

We stayed overnight in July and August on our outwards and return journey camping in the Loire Valley and we will definitely be making this our regular. The owners are delightful and are very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent although sadly the fantastic restaurant with its wood fired grill is only open Thurs-Sat in the evening so next year we will be travelling on days when we can eat there too. It is 20 minutes from the ferry but in a delightful secluded lane. There is a lovely terrace the rooms are comfortable with kettle tea and coffee. The bed was so comfortable and the room and en-suite spotlessly clean. The water pressure in the shower (often not great in small B&Bs) was perfect. All around great place to stay - and after a career as a hotel manager, restaurateur and lecturer in this field over the last 40 years I can assure you this couple understand what hospitality is.
