We had one very special day and night in Chartres. Our room was nicely decorated, with a small outdoor terrace. Carol our host was very helpful with recommendations for dinner.  Incredible visit to the Cathedral both daytime and during the evening laiser light show, Chartes en Lumieres.  Lovely breakfast in the morning.  Wonderful stay, thank you Carol.

We were on our way to the French Alps and decided to stop off in Chartres to see the Cathedral.  We stayed in Carole’s guest house for a couple of nights.  What a great find!  Carole’s main objective is to ensure that her guests enjoy the experience... and she definitely manages to do that!  First, the guest house.  Our bedroom, the Terre Ombré, was lovely.  Very well equipped with everything you could want in a room.  Nice layout with plenty of space for our bags.  There are 3 other rooms, all very nicely proportioned and each different.  The guest house is right in the middle of Chartres with easy access to all attractions, restaurants, bars, etc.  Carole was also very helpful with advice on restaurants/what to do etc.  And her English was excellent.  We will definitely stay here again when we are returning to France.  Very happy with our choice on this occasion!

This is a fantastic place to stay in Chartres. Carole is very charming with excellent English and looks after you so well in her beautiful appointed rooms. A delicious breakfast is included and is served in her bright and interesting top floor dining room. It’s right in the centre of the city just 5 mins walk from the Cathedral. Parking is easy with a large underground car park opposite. Would we recommend it - yes. Would we go back there - like a shot. Thank you Carole for a very enjoyable stay.

This is a lovely guest house, and the hostess Carole was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room itself was perfect, with a little kitchen area and it’s own private entrance. We were able to leave our bicycles inside the entrance room. She also had coffee and water available in the entrance room for guests. The breakfast again was perfect. The whole house is lovely.

This was a delightful accommodation for me, my wife and our adult daughter. The BNB is creatively designed and welcoming.  The details and amenities are first rate. The breakfast was terrific and was chatting with Carole, a native of Chatres. Carole is a wonderful host and helped us with parking our car, seeing the sights. She made us feel welcomed in every way. The BNB is an easy walk to all the sights. We recommend it in every way.

Carole has made this lovely home into a very comfortable and stylish B & B. Lots of creative elements making it a joy for the senses. It's perfectly located, easy to find and very close to parking. Carole was so helpful. She went with my husband to help him with parking, made three dinner reservations for us, and even offered to let me borrow a scarf on a particular cool night. Her breakfasts are delicious too. Our room was cute as a button with stained glass windows and a great shower with excellent water pressure and lots of hot water. The entire house has been renovated and is extremely well done. The pictures do not do it justice. Chartres is a beautiful town. The world famous cathedral is stunning beyond words. The evening light show that goes on throughout the town is spectacular and not to be missed. Carole is a native of Chartres 
and her warmth and energy make her and her special B & B, L'Escale en Couleur a perfect match for this beautiful town.
