For the price, it can't be beat. Good location close to center of town. Nice deck with view of the mountains. Ski lockers and breakfast included. No thrills room, but fir the price and location would book again. 

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, and only has a few rooms, but is efficient, clean and is excellently located to the middle of the village. You can walk to everything from this hotel.
Our room had a small kitchen with a very small balcony, but equipped enough to include a dishwasher! The living area was fine with 2 futons and a dining table and tv. The bedroom had 2 single beds and another door opening to a great view of the south alps. The bathroom was adequate but the entrance was from the bedroom only. Anyone sleeping on the futons will have to come into the bedroom to get to the bathroom. But a minor inconvenience. 
The room was clean, duvets warm, enough plates and utensils for 5 of us. The outside door was always locked with a modern security code system. The owner was always very helpful and willing to offer suggestions on where to eat and hike. 
We never did get to the restaurant in the hotel as the hours were limited.
Overall, a very good place to stay in Chamonix.

Super pleased with my stay. While my room on the top floor was a funky configuration and small, it was clean and comfortable. The bath was recently remodeled. The location is excellent if you want to be in the center of Chamonix. Good value for money in my opinion. 

Visited this hotel as a group of 7 (some of us were in the sister hotel/apartment next door).  Rooms are small and basic, but clean.
Best thing about this place is the location.  Right on the edge of the centre of town, right next to the main gondola (less than 5 minute walk), and 3 minute walk (though the apartments opposite) to the beginner slopes.
Breakfast was adequate (although we only took it up one day).
There is a boot room outside with a pin code to get in.
Lady running it doesn't speak any English at all, but we are in France, so clearly not a problem as such, but does a great job of pointing and speaking in basic French, so you can normally get a jist of what she is saying.  She is friendly, as was everyone else there.
If you are on a budget and want to stay in Chamonix, then this is the place for you. 
WiFi is questionable at best, but no big deal.

Excellent Budget Accomodations

Booked this hotel around 2 weeks ahead as it was a last minute trip.
We arrived early morning and the management agreed to give us the room.
We were given a double room (very average sized and basic) but nicely carpeted and clean. No frills like phone or minibar but it was well heated for the winter. The bedding was nice and comfortable, the decor simple but elegant and the bathroom functioned well. It had a shared terrace between 2 rooms with breathtaking views of the mountains and chalet opposite! 
The hotel is situated close to the bus stop and walking distance to the city centre.
If you don’t mind walking everything like the brevent, auguille de midi ect is a km away from the hotel.
But with the hotel’s guest pass you can use the public buses in chamonix for free.

The hotel is managed by 2 Russian guys.
Both of them were polite and helpful.
We had a very comfortable stay and we thank the hotel management for the nice breakfast and all their help.
