66 reviewsThere is no need to search in Chalon-sur-Saone, you will not find better than the Maison d'Hôtes Les Hirondelles! The hostess, Sophie is extremely welcoming and generously shares her love and knowledge of Chalon-sur-Saone. The décor is fabulous, and although being situated very close to the best restaurants, the street is very quiet and with the wonderful beds, you won't have a better night's sleep anywhere. Breakfast was a festin on her wonderful terrace with homemade jams and wonderful local pastries along with cheese and fresh fruit salad. I was there with my family in August, on the way to the south, and sincerely hope I have the opportunity to visit Sophie's beautiful house again. Chalon-sur-Saone itself, with its many monuments, photography museum, wonderful cathedral and walks by the Saône is worth a longer stay than just a quick overnight stop.
