Chateau-Gaillard

This Chambres d'hotes is a wonderful and very solid old house. Inside it is beautifully restored so that it makes a light and comfortable home. It is spotlessly clean and Gabriela and Claude welcome you to their home with great charm. Our bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom large, modern and with plenty of hot water. They have a lovely natural garden with a large fruit growing area and all the various jams at breakfast are made with fruit from their garden. They also have chickens. Gabriela is a terrific cook and we ate dinner together and despite limited communication it was easy to understand that they both have a great sense of humour. They are very generous and also helpful and knowledgeable. A delightful couple. They take great pride in their home and it is a joy to share it with them. We hope to return but for longer next time. They are surrounded by beautiful countryside and some lovely old villages and towns. Some of the local wines are just around the corner and there is much exploring to be done.
