Driving back home from Spain we stopped in Capbreton for overnight. Very nice in did and full of life.
The room was very nice and the owner also. We had some mixed plate of pâté with toast bread and some lagers...
A good option to visit and stay in Capbreton...

Very very nice 

We did not stay at this hotel, but ate here one lunchtime. Staff were very friendly and accommodating despite our inability to speak fluent French. One waiter even brought out some food and cushions unprompted for our toddler when he was starting to have a meltdown. We opted for the menu du jour, which was around EUR 13.50. There was a good choice of menu options and all the dishes we opted for were amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Lovely friendly restaurant with great food

My brother and I had cycled 133 miles for charity the day we pulled in here, choosing it by accident. When I say I was tired, I mean, I literally fell asleep in my steak. About 2 minutes after we went to bed, the proprietor set-up a pair of 300kw speakers in the room below, downloaded a metric amount of drugs, invited over 3 locals who looked like extras from the film Waterworld, and proceeded to have a full on, no-holds-barred rave. On a Monday night. In the room below. If you ever want to know why the French economy has underperformed in the last 8 financial quarters, it's because in room 14 of an empty hotel in a rain swept underpopulated French village on a Monday night there's a bearded hotel proprietor called Alli who's turned his speakers onto "Hiroshima" setting, and is rippling decibels across the Atlantic coast with such fury that two guys who couldn't stay awake for long enough to finish a steak were kept awake for six hours by Burning Man 2.0 in the room below. I went down to suggest that he turn it down, in case he had a paying guest staying in the hotel. He laughed, and said that was funny, because I WAS a paying guest, and I laughed, because shooting myself wasn't a possibility at that precise moment in time.

The steak was ok, despite the superfluous watercress.

Really Impressive Effort from the Proprietor

José, Eddy and Guillaume welcome you in their 100 years old historic hotel, located in the heart of the vibrant town centre walking area. All shops are vlose by : boulangerie, souvenirs, supermarket, banks and postoffice. The market also happens twice a week accross te strees.
The young, friendly and dynamic team offers you a great menu bringing fresh and local products to your table. Lots of options from crèpes to mussels or even consistent tapas plates to share.
The hotel side is very quiet and stays cool even in summer. It feels great to relax in one of the newly renovated rooms as they've all been decorated with a delicate sense of cosiness.
The combination of good food, comfortable stay and excellent service definitely makes the difference!

A charming hotel in the heart of the town

We were looking for a place to stay in Capbreton, late at night, without previous booking. At first "Le Balcon" seemed to us just a restaurant, but we were tired and asked about a room at the bar. To our surprise there was a room, 45E per night, per 2. The hotel has been renewed recently. The guys, who run the place, were very nice, helpful and enthusiastic. The room was at the first floor, climbing small stairs. It was clean and comfortable, with private bathroom. We slept very well. The hotel and it´s backyard need still some work, but overall impression was extremely positive. Definetely we will stay there again when in Capbreton :)
