Very nice campsite, quiet and very clean, lovely owners, wonderful beach right on the other side of a small road. 5mns away from camaret that you can see from the beach(especially nice at night). We highly recommand

Beautiful, good value campsite with everything a family could need.  The beach is amazing for all the family (no surf though).

Short cycle into town for shops etc.  Right on coastal path and lots to see around the area.

The cafe bar is lovely the food is good but the bread is poor by french standards.  

We ve been here twice and it is good I just wish the staff would be more friendly. Unlike many other sites it is normal for staff to walk past you without saying hello.  I find this a little off putting.

This site is right next to a sandy beach, just a minutes walk over the road. 
The owner was very friendly and came out to welcome us with a big smile. She sold fresh bread and pastries in the morning and also sold some food in a small restaurant, although we didn't try it ourselves.

The site itself was fairly compact but still enough space not to feel crammed in. 

Only slight off putting thing for some maybe the unisex toilets/shower areas! 

Camaret-Sur-Mer was a 5/10 minute bike ride or 30 minute walk (there's a coastal footpath all the way along the coast to the town) which has many bars/restaurants to choose from.


'Loved it' stayed for five nights (wished it was longer) it is in the most pleasant way 'rustic' peaceful and very friendly. Toilet and shower facilities very good with plenty of hot water. Beach just across road. And though in motorhome  it was very easy to drive and park at local supermarket and visit local beauty spots. Will visit again

We stayed at Trez-Rouz for three nights last year and decided to return as it was one of our favourite campsites. For British readers, this is like a campsite run by the family in the Darling Buds of May. The lady on the desk also cooks, serves drinks, takes bookings, you name it. A gaggle of family members either contribute to or disrupt the smooth running of the operation. A incidence of someone who I think was a son of the owner overcharging us by nearly double for a meal and drinks was dealt with by the mum with a volley of French, a clip on his ear and a hearty laugh. But for all that, this campsite is a rustic delight. It is a minute's walk from a lovely beach and the delightful small port of Camaret Sur Mer is just down the road. There are pleasant walks and cycle sportifs to be had, including the scenic Pont d'Espagnol with views of Brest. Le Conquet is across the water by ferry either from Camaret Sur Mer or Le Fret and there are trips to the larger islands offshore. Trez Rouz is ideally placed for all this. The pitches are divided by hedges. Wandering chickens can be a bit of a menace if they think you're going to feed them. There is a large trampoline near the office and a play area. This year, the trampoline was unfortunately colonised by a gang of very noisy kids who remained boisterous until 11pm one night despite the owner telling them to shove off at 10pm. That was a bit of a nuisance for us as we had camped in the same spot as last year when it was very quiet and tranquil. The loos are clean but very functional and uni-sex (not unusual at French campsites). This year the loos had loo roll which we think is a development on last year. Fresh bread, croissants, and pain au chocolate are available in the mornings and there is a small selection of groceries in the office/shop. There is food available and it is pretty good, hearty fare though the general levels of chaos mean that you may have a bit of a wait. Overall we like this campsite and will probably go back if our cycle touring adventures take us in its direction. Very good for children and families.

Excellent campsite

This campsite is one to avoid.  Although the location couldn't be better, adjacent to a spectacular beach, the campsite itself is shabby, dirty and smelly and the staff are rude.  On arrival I found dog muck in the children's playground, right next to the sandpit.  The slide was unusable as it was so old, all the plastic fibre was coming through.  Our caravan was dirty and dusty, and the shelves needed dusting before I could place any clothes on them.  The blankets had dog hairs and stains on them and were dirty.  The staff member (owner?) on reception wasn't apologetic and said I should look at five star campsites if I wanted five star standards!  I explained that as we were paying almost £1k to stay in her caravan for a week (the most expensive of any campsite we resided in during our five week trip) I didn't think basic cleanliness was asking too much. There was also a bad smell coming from the area where the washblocks are - possibly a poorly managed sanitation / sewer system. I believe this could have once been a nice spot but has gradually deteriorated as the management have rested on their laurels, knowing customers will come for the proximity to the beach alone.  This has made them complacent, and the extortionate fees are absolutely not justified.  I wouldn't recommend this campsite to anyone.  There are so many WONDERFULLY managed well-priced campsites in France, choose any one apart from this.  (I actually really never write reviews but felt compelled on this occasion)

Terrible

The restaurant is best avoided.

We should have known this when we popped in to see their menu at 12:30 on the August Bank-Holiday and they told us to come back later because the cook hadn't arrived.

We foolishly returned later. Yes there was a cook but the chaotic service continued. After taking an age to take our order we were mystified why we couldn't see nor hear any signs of actual cooking going on.

It took three goes for them to get our simple drinks' order right.

Eventually we heard some cooking noises and an awful long time after we first sat down they managed to provide the food - ahead, it has to be said, of the neighbouring table who had been seated before us. They must have been more annoyed than us.

It took well over an hour for them to serve omelette and chips.

The unfortunate fact being the actual food was well-cooked, it's just everything else which is shambolic.
