Stopped over at L’Eden with my mother and children on our way to St Cast. Rooms were clean, staff were really lovely and breakfast was great. I recommend staying here if you’re looking for a somewhere to rest your head. One thing worth noting is there isn’t much in the way of food locally.

We stayed one night, the hotel is cheap and cheerful. We had rooms 10 and 11. The room number 10 was nicely decorated in a African safari style- quite nice. The number 11 was a bit dated but ok. Towels and soaps provided. 
You can have a nice dinner about 10 minutes drive towards the Cherbourg - we went for Buffalo grill, which was great 

Just back from an overnight stay in Cherbourg, Normandy, France. The hotel L'eden is a small independant hotel about 5 minutes drive from Cherbourg-Tourlaville on the N13 route toward Caen. The location is good for nearby eateries and it is a stones-throw from the Aachen shopping centre and hypermarket. We booked online, an economy double on the second floor which was small but very clean with a double bed, small robe, TV with 10 channels (BBC and Sky News included), sink and shower but no toilet. The toilet is across the landing and again very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room warm.This room was a non-smoker but smoking rooms are available. The owner was very welcoming and was able to make allowances for our schoolpupil french. The cost was 33 euros for the room, a favourable rate for this type of small family hotel. Breakfast is available but we did not partake. Signage is in English as well as French. Overall it was a pleasant and economic overnight stop and I wouldn't hesisitate to recommend it as that. Probably less suited to longer stays.

A very comfortable hotel, pleasant staff, rooms very clean, all en-suite. 
Didn't have time for breakfast but it was available if needed.
we are hoping to stay there again in the near future.

Good little overnight hotel in Cherbourg

Great for a stopover

Overnight in Cherbourg

After camping for 7 nights nearby, we had to abandon due to tents not coping with the strong winds, we were on a budget so L'Eden was about all we could afford for 2 nights. 
We were a little nervous about what it would be like, it was not really that bad! We were given a ground floor triple room, at a cost of 50euro a night, yes the bedding was mismatched and there were 2 different types of patterned wallpaper but it was clean and comfortable, the room had an ensuite with shower. 
The only thing I would say is that there was hardly any toilet roll and it wasn't replaced the next day when the room was cleaned, which was a little strange. The floor was bubbled up so was noisy when walked on, however this was fixed when the room was cleaned on our second day. My sister was also staying in the hotel with her husband and 2 children, they had a room on the second floor, it was actually 2 bedrooms, with a small hallway in between from which the bathroom was accessed, this was great at a cost of 60euro a night. The two single beds were made up with children's bedding on which was a nice touch. Breakfast was available at 4euro each but we didn't have it. Don't let the exterior put you off, it's clean and comfortable after long days out visiting all that Normandy has to offer!
Lastly the hotel is accessed by a door with a security code, which is given on arrival and there is also free wifi which was excellent after a week without it!

Hotel smelt of cigarette smoke.Very cramped family room.Only french TV.Were no towels so we fetched our own from car.Was a good job we were so tired as we went straight to bed.Was a hair in the sink and the toilet looked like it was from 1950 s.
Would have left immediately but had booked online and nneded to be there to catch ferry the nexxt morning.
