Chalet des Neiges - LA SOURCE DES ARCS

Very comfortable stay for three of us in a 2-bed, 2-bathroom apartment with a large terrace and nice view. I think that the apartments would be cramped if one used the sleeping sofa in the living area, but that’s personal preference. Very modern, well-equipped and charming staff. Laundry room with free access to decent washing machines and dryers. Excellent ski room with heated boot dryers and a spacious locker per apartment. Only one toilet, so not en suite with either of the bedrooms. There is a lovely spa complex with a heated pool, steam room and sauna, as well as a gym. The pool could really do with being heated a few degrees higher, though, and it needs some maintenance attention - rust in places and the bubble generator seemed broken. Welcome kit of kitchen cleaning products and shower gel in both bathrooms supplied, but otherwise you need to bring everything else - including hand soap. Underground parking with a lift straight into the apartments. Genuinely ski-in and ski-out, even during the last week of the season. A stone’s throw from the meeting point for the ESF ski school. We were very happy here and would easily come back, although it has to be said that Les Arcs 2000 is looking quite tired and tatty. Former Club Med resort looked abandoned and derelict; lots of wooden buildings looking very neglected; a lot of charmless / brutalist architecture with dingy, smelly concrete hallways and dark, dilapidated lifts. The Sherpa “supermarket” is basic and underwhelming to say the least.
