This is a great place - very authentic with lots of little character. The man and woman working the front desk were very very friendly and helpful (but don't speak much English). The best part of this was the centrality of the neighborhood - you can walk to the near beaches, take buses to the Calanques and les Goudes, we even walked into the "vieux port". When it was time to leave, we hopped right back on the metro to the train station. If you want to stay in a nice place and not pay tons of money and you want a safe neighborhood with access to everything, this is the place. I would do it again. Also the bed was fine, there is a small shower in the room and the room is small (the bathroom is outside on the 2nd floor which is typical for more generic French hotels). Also, it was extremely quiet so sleep was not interrupted. I wish I had stayed longer. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. And for the price, it was unbeatable.
