On the advice of colleagues at the Goudes, while everything was complete, we spent a wonderful stay in this beautiful 19th century bastide, beautifully decorated, very clean, beautiful room with garden view. The reception is perfect, breakfast is also. What a positive thing! The garden is beautiful and staying there on beautiful days must be a good time, even if the sea is two steps away...

What do you think about the seriousness of a hotel owner who at a booking tells you that only the most expensive room is left? Good agreement we take. Then 3 days later he calls you back to say oh sorry but the room was already rented for 4 days. So we are complete and you are the victim of one on Booking. We have great doubts about their loyalty or professionalism (especially when you have 4 rooms to manage).

I doubt it.

We stayed at the Villa Valflor on our first in France after an overseas flight. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts are very accommodating to non-French speakers. We enjoyed staying in the old family home and having dinner along the 5-minute walk to the coast. Highly recommend.

First night in France

A lovely house of Marseille charm in the heart of the old chapel district. Privileged location close to the beaches and served by quality restaurants (the little garden for example) served by public transport. Very friendly home, bedding and room nice to the past decoration but what a charm. All comfort, garden with beautiful swimming pool!

Residence in Marseille

Everything is perfect in this villa: - full of charm - comfortable - superb swimming pool - two steps from the beach - breakfast is plentiful and delicious - the kindness, hospitality, availability, responsiveness of Josiane and her husband If you are not transported, a sea shuttle can take you to the old port for 5 euros.

That's perfect.

The breakfast, the garden with the swimming pool and the kindness of the guests are remarkable. We highly recommend this place and will be happy to return.

A little corner of paradise in the city

Everything was perfect: the situation, the hospitality and the availability of our guests, the comfort, charm and cleanliness of the rooms and the studio, delicious breakfast... the ideal place to recommend to all travelers seeking excellence.

It's a charm

We had a very nicely decorated and clean room with a view of the beautiful garden. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The French breakfast with croissants, jam, baguettes, cheese and homemade yogurt was a pleasure every time. Especially since it is served on the large shady terrace. Parking facilities are available behind the house. However, a small car is more recommended, as the entrance is very narrow. The beaches and restaurants are within walking distance. There is also a small ferry ride nearby directly to the port of Marseilles. It was very nice to come back.

How would you like to come back

This little guest house is run by a lovely French couple. They only have a few rooms, so it becomes a nice and familiar atmosphere. It is will situard, close to the beach and some nice restaurants. By cab over by the local communting boat,  it is not far to the city center. There are also buses, but they often tend to be slow and overcrowded.

I had a room with a large balcony. However, I did not use it very much, as I was there during an exceptionally warm period. Instead I spent much of the days at the pool, in their lovely garden. 

I will for sure come back next summer.

A woderful small bed and breakfast

...after driving from Provence, into the Carmargue thru the traffic that is Marseille, we were pretty well spent by the time we pulled onto Blvd. Molinari trying to locate #13. It's not that long of a street but we did find the address, parked in front of someone else's garage door because street parking is at a premium, went up to the unassuming front door past a gate and knocked. Was met by one of the owners, a wonderfully charming woman who directed us to back up and she would open another gated entry to drive our car back to what I can only describe is a great lil' "oasis" one block from the beach in Pointe Rouge. We eventually got to meet her husband as well, who was equally chraming.

This place is great! Plenty of restaurants, small stores and a bakery that are easily within a block or so a walking distance. The grounds were so nice with a welcoming soaking pool that was perfect to cool off.

We're American and just had the best time enjoying the neighborhood, the city itself and drive to Bandol and Cassis with Villa Valfor being a perfect place to explore it all.
