CGH Résidences & Spas l'Orée des Neiges

Having stayed in a few CGH properties this was up there with good locations in Tignes and Val Thorens and we enjoyed staying here. It is spacious modern and upmarket by French standards compared to the Pierre and Vacance and others. Our family of 5 with teenagers found the 6 person two bed apartment spacious and there was plenty of room to cook and a proper table to eat.The building is new and everything in the apartment is in good working order and at a high level.The main bedroom is ensuite.Rooms are well soundproofed so there is very little noise from neighbours. The receptionist Thomas was pleasant and helpful and there is no problem checking in and out. You are a staircase away from the link slope to the Peisey Vallandry lift which was still skiable on April 15.To me that is ski in ski out even if you have to climb 30 steps. It is close to the Vanoise Express and you can ski Les Arcs or La Plagne using this as a base. We enjoyed alternating between the two on alternate days. If you can -get a room with a view. We were able to sit on the balcony in the evening catching the sunset and the view as you can see in the pictures is stunning. Its a hike home from the village. There is a bakery and a modest sherpa with a few restaurants. Enough for a week. If we were returning we would stay in the sister property Oree des Neiges which is a little more expensive. Why? The pool, easier access to the faster and uncrowded Grizzily lift and a better selection of shops and restaurants on that side. Despite our kids being keen on the pool it was too far at a 10 minute walk after a full days skiing.
