La Maison de Calixte

This is a beautiful chalet on a hamlet above Bourg. We were a group of 7 but the house would comfortably accommodate 10. Only draw back being lack of loos (4 bathrooms but only 2 toilets). Photos cannot do this chalet justice. It was very well equipped with everything you can imagine. Skiing from here is easy. Short drive to Granges where you can park for free and get on the funival at the mid-station just a few minutes into 1600. Conditions depending, you can ski back to the car at the end of the day. Chalet was very warm and the bedrooms beautifully presented. Great views from 2 sunny balconies. I imagine it would be great in the summer. Only consideration is access. The last half mile is on narrow, windy roads and if you had a dump down of snow in the week it could be a challenge. I have no idea how quickly the roads would be cleared. We had no such drama thankfully. It is a little way into Bourg but a big Super U just on your way in is easiest. We just did 2 shops and we were sorted for the week. Louise is the owner and she was very helpful and friendly. We booked through booking.com and do note that towels and cleaning are payable locally to Louise.
