Le Gourmandin

I have stayed here several times over the past decade, while attending the Beaune Festival. The location, overlooking the gorgeous Place Carnot is unbeatable, though drivers will need to be on the ball to sort out their parking arrangements. The modern, stylish and spotlessly clean rooms are above a restaurant, so that's another issue resolved. The Burgundian set menu is a pre-concert tradition for us now, and the fun continues when artists return for their supper after the show. Breakfast on the square is another treat, with some of the finest croissants I have ever tasted. This is definitely not a hotel, so don't expect zealous attention but a wonderful time is guaranteed. I feel this place is a secret joy that I really shouldn't be sharing...
