This is an unusual hotel. It appears huge and is set in a beautiful area near to the Rhone. The plane trees create a wonderful barrier to the heat and the sound of cicadas adds to the delightful setting. There is an outdoor pool with plenty of loungers and it was great to relax there after a days sight seeing. It was strangely empty with only a couple of other guests and seems to be more of a restaurant and was busier in the evenings. The food is quite simply amazing. The staff were really helpful and managed to provide 5 star vegetarian food despite this not being on the menu. We ate here 2 nights out of our 4 as it was so good. The breakfasts were also very good, a typical continental style with fresh fruits, cereals,cheeses, meats etc. The croissants are especially seductive. WiFi is available everywhere and the staff were all wonderful. Beaucaire is a lovely area to explore Provence with Arles and Avignon only a few miles away. We had a wonderful stay here despite the strange bedrooms; which were large but with the smallest toilet I have ever experienced.
