Hotel Univers dates from 1896 and is located in the centre of Bastia, just 100 metres from Saint Nicolas Square and one block away from the Porte de Bastia and Tourism de bastia Office.It offers free Wi-Fi access, a 24-hour reception and bicycle storage facilities.But No Lifts.Staff doesnt speak English.They dont accept US Dollars.The entire Corsica Island does not accept US Dollars for there is NO FOREIGN EXCHANGE in the entire Corsica so please carry EUROS ONLY.Even the Post Office bang opposite the Hotel and Banque de France behind the Hotel was of no use. Eventually I had to get Euros from Western Union office in Citadel from my friend in Cagnes Sur Mer near Nice.This was the most troublesome part of my journey that I could not believe NO HOTEL in Corsica accepts US DOLLARS.This was an amazing discovery on the Corse Island which I will never forget in my entire Life.I stayed there for 4 nights.The stay was average as I used it only for sleeping purpose nothing else.
