Camping Antipolis

Stayed there with my husband and fifteen year old daughter for 5 days in July. We got a taxi from Nice airport to the site which was €60 for the three of us so I would advise taking a bus or train if you don't want to spend that kind of money. It was late when we arrived, around 11pm so we had to ring the campsite reception to tell them we would be checking in late. When we arrived we were greeted by the security guard who asked for a passport as security because the reception and check in areas weren't open- I will say this did worry me because I like to keep my passport with me, but it turned out to be completely fine when I got it back the next morning. We were staying in a mobile in the d block. This was an excellent location as it was very close to the castel studio and swimming pool. When we got our bearings in the mobile we decided to go down to the restaurant for a bite to eat. It was the night of the world cup final so the place was buzzing. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed at that time but we were able to have some desserts which were absolutely gorgeous. We met a wonderful waitress named Chou Chou who spoke English almost fluently and was extremely friendly and thankful when we tipped her. During our 5 day stay there she did everything to help us. The site is located near a casino supermarket and an intermarché. It is also a 10 minute walk from the site to a pebbly beach and biot train station. Monaco is about a 30 minute train ride and Cannes is about 15 minutes away-both are places I would recommend visiting. There is a wonderful holiday atmosphere about the site with young children roaming around freely. The campsite is very safe and I was quiet happy to let my daughter walk alone around there at night. There is also wonderful family entertainment each night- mostly free of charge and each morning local traders come in and set up stalls,mainly for clothes and handbags-which my daughter and I both enjoyed browsing. I would also like to say that the staff are second to none I've ever seen in my life. They speak a multitude of languages and are very friendly - especially Chou Chou the waitress and the very helpful Betty Boop in reception. The man that works in the grocery shop is also very friendly and chatty. The mobile itself is quite basic but it's nice. It doesn't have a tv though, which we were annoyed with at the start but then we realized how nice it was to escape technology for a while. The only fault that I do have is the check out times - you have to check out before noon which can be difficult if you have a late flight but they do allow you to stay on at the site after you have checked out. The site is also located near a bus stop and the 250 bus which takes you straight to the airport in Nice. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. I would recommend this site over a hotel as it is much more relaxed and family orientated.We had been saving to go to France for a good few years and we were delighted that Antipolis fulfilled all of our expectations. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and would recommend Camping Antipolis to anyone.
