Hotel Atalaye

This hotel is in a great, central location for Biarritz restaurants and bars and ten minutes walk from the grand plage. The rooms and common areas are old but charming, the bedrooms small but clean and adequate. There's a small lift (max of two people) or winding staircase to access the rooms - we were on the third floor, so a bit of a hike (and note the hotel is on a steep hill, although only a minute or two up from one of the main drags through the centre of town). These are minor issues and I'd more than happily stay here again for friends or family trips - to be fair, possibly not for a romantic getaway. Overall, excellent value for money (we paid 54 euro each for two nights) and in a brilliant location.
