Fantastic
223 reviewsThis hotel is a hidden gem. Perched on a hill with a wonderful view, a small (max 9 rooms I think) and familial operations are all run by the owner couple almost single-handedly. Rooms are small and minimalist. A bit on the older side but very well renovated and comfortable. The highlight is definitely the dinner with a view: using all local produces marrying super well with local wines, the chef creates beautiful plates that are a great pleasure to the eyes and to the palette. With mild seasoning and light touch on grease scale, each dish gives you a great deal of joy. Everything is also on the soft side so also good for seniors. Breakfast is much lighter (typical continental) and more industrial (e.g. yogurt and fromage blanc that are the same as what you can find in supermarkets) but the handmade breads are fabulous and the service always as wonderful. The only drawback can be that the hotel is closed from 10h30 to 15h - understandably so as otherwise they will never be able to sleep or take a break - so even if you are staying multiple nights you are kind of obliged to go out by 10h30. Easy access to various hiking trails and lovely lakes. Do not hesitate to go for rooms with a view. You will not regret your choice (although the same can be seen from the lobby and the dining room). Along with the 'senior' mention above, it is not recommended to those with small children. This is an adult hotel and quite frankly, with the menu decided by the chef each evening (everyone eats the same things) with no child menu (remember they are only 2 people running everything). You'd prefer to go without your kids and appreciate that the others do not bring children who cannot sit still, run around or make a lot of noises. This is the kind of place you want to keep to yourself and repeat year after year.
