Charming and restful, comfortable and well situated just out of the village of St Christol, La Demeure de L'Arche was undoubtedly the best place that we stayed in the Cevennes area. Our first floor room was beautifully presented, with lovely linen and towels, and a great bathroom with walk-in shower. We greatly enjoyed the spacious terrace that allowed for view over the lovely countryside, and even provided a glimpse of a shooting star. The Northern French owners were most welcoming and helpful, and the pool was just what was required in the blistering August heat. We even enjoyed an al fresco supper prepared in the outdoor kitchen. Breakfast was excellent, with lovely homemade jams and good local produce. This was what we so hoped to find in the Cevennes...and we were not disappointed!!. Bravo.
