Villa De La Garriguette

My wife and I have just spent 2 relaxing days in the wonderful little town of Aigues-Mortes in Languedoc-Roussillon. Our hosts Laurence and Pascal were a charming couple who made us feel very welcome as special guests sharing their family home. Our room was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented, with external access that allowed us to come and go as we chose. The home is less than 10 minutes' walk from the walled city in a quiet residential part of Aigues-Mortes. Laurence is a very capable cook and prepared 2 superb breakfasts for us which we ate in our hosts' own designer kitchen/diningroom. When we discovered that the owners of the local laundrette had decided to take an extended summer break - leaving visitors with no option but to do it themselves - Laurence cheerfully took our clothing and washed it for us in her own machine, then put it out to dry for us on a clothesline by our room. A very thoughtful gesture, done with no mention of any additional charge for her time and effort. Indeed we returned from a brief shopping excursion surprised to find our clothing clean and practically dry already. We stayed at Villa de la Garriguette during the 3rd week of October when the weather was really cooling down and did not feel inclined to take a quick dip in the family pool. We could have easily done so, however, as the pool precincts were neat and tidy, and the pool itself was very clean and inviting. English is a second language for both hosts, but communication between us took place without a hitch. Nothing is too much troble for Laurence and Pascal...
