When we searched for accommodation in Imatra, we noticed the proximity of this hotel and we reached it by staying open-mouthed because it all seems to have come out of a fairy tale. In the middle of a forest, this hotel is very old although not falling, outdoor wood with decorations and an interior with rooms of Lillipucian size but renovated and clean. There is no personal, access key found following the info via email. The exterior faces are different from each other and also different relative to the building which is perhaps a dependency. I know in the middle of a narrow forest in a hotel the exteriors are superlative and the interiors are essential.

I slept one night at Karjalan Portti before continuing my bike trip along the beautiful lake Saimaa. The reception was closed as I arrived in the evening, but an envelope with my name and a key waited for me at the front door. I easily found my room and it was nice to see how  modern and tidy it was. The rooms are recently renovated and very clean. I would say simple but comfortable, also with a television. Private bathroom in the room, and a shared kitchen in the same building, with fridge, coffee maker and other utilities. In the morning I spoke with the owner while enjoying some of the fresh pancakes at the café in the main building. He was an old and very friendly man. As part of the hotel there is also a car museum and an antique shop. Very much worth a visit, and VERY GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY!

Best value for the money, clean, quiet and comfortable

It's a good hotel, the price is good, there's a barbecue, there's everything in the kitchen for cooking, there's a friendly staff, there's WiFi, it's 5 minutes by car from the center of Imatra, the rooms are clean, there's everything... we've been coming here for years.

The hotel in Imatra!

The hotel is located right on Highway 6, which does not affect the quietness of the rooms. You will get a fully furnished room with a toilet, shower and TV, as well as a cozy kitchen with everything necessary. The private building, judging from the appearance, is clearly in need of repair, but you will not feel it inside. Keep in mind that you can stay here even if you do not have a pre-arranged room and pocket after the owner has left (at 17.00)! Just take the guest at the entrance gate of the house.

A quiet, cozy night for ridiculous money.

In order: 1) our hotel: good rooms, in common kitchens there is almost everything, we got a rather small room, but with its own bathroom. Out of the minuses only a small sink and small pillows, but I read about it and came with mine. On the territory there are benches with tables and mangles. 2) the location: close to the Svetogorsk town hall and very close to shops and water park, 1.8 km away there is a lake with a beach, where you can swim, there are almost no people.. 3) at the price cost of 55 euros per 2s, we were without problems allowed to settle at 9.30 in the morning, not 12.

Very pleasant place to rest.Very polite staff.Clean rooms,good kitchen,where you can have everything you need and cook any dish,sit in a good environment.The hotel is very conveniently located 5 km from Imatra.All nearby are two large beautiful water parks Imatra Kylpyla Spa and Holiday Club Saimaa

It's a very unusual, nice hotel, a wooden house, a spacious room, everything you need, a cafe, a store, a museum, a super place, a beautiful nature all around, romantic, very good hosts, everything based on trust, cleanliness and order.
