Great local sights. 600 years old medieval castle, large wooden church, world war 2 fortifications, beautiful towns, lakes, and forests. The resort itself was great, our own sauna next to a lake, a fireplace with plenty of wood, and comfy beds. I'd definitely recommend renting a car though, as the resort is out in the woods. Try the salmon stew at the restaurant, it's great. The pizza was very tasty as well. We had no issues with the resort and had a relaxing stay. We'll look to visit again if possible.

Wonderful place for any season. Excellent nature place near the lake. If you like yoga - it is special place - silence, nature energy are perfect. Service, rooms everything is on high level. Higly recomended to visit and stay for several days.

Very nice location by the lake, cottages well integrated in the landscape and with privacy. Cottages are well equipped. 
Rowing boats available for free. Good beach. 
Had dinner at the local restaurant and was surprised with the good food quality.

Large units with own sauna and jacuzzi. Excellent staff with fluent English. Happy to give advice on places to visit. Quiet rural location but close to many worthwhile areas to visit on day trips. Only about 20 kms form Savonlinna. On-site cafe and bar. Lakeside with boats available.  

We spent a week In Punkaharju just over Christmas. We had an accommodation suitable for two people, which was ok, even though a separate bedroom would have been nice. However, we booked the accommodation just before Christmas, so had to take what was avalable. 
The cottage seemed nice, we had our own sauna and a whirlpool which we enjoyed almost daily. The kitchen was well equipped, more than we expected. 
The location is peaceful and quiet and locates by the lake Kulennoinen. I'm sure it's a nice place in summer, in winter there isn't that much to do apart from walking around (or perhaps skiing etc. if you like skiing). 
There is a restaurant on site, however we didn't use it so can't really comment on that. 
Defenitelly would go back in summer time if I wanted to spend a holiday in my own peace surrounded by nature.

Perfect place for relaxing

There is no wifi internet in the apartment, so if you'd like to exist there like you did 25 years ago, the club is perfect. I TRIED TO FIND A SKATING ROUTE BUT FAILED. Skiing routes are good. Lot of firewood. The place is good for snowmobile usage, but there is no offer for renting snowmobiles.
