We were very happy with our one night stay at Hotelli Msikammen Oy. Our room and the property were very clean.  All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

We came to see the pandas at Ahtari Zoo and were really satisfied with our stay. The hotel is just across the street from the Snowpanda House. The package deal with zoo tickets, swimming pool and accommodation was good. The hotel dates from the 1970's which is apparent in the architecture - I loved it! The rooms are quite basic, but all with a   small wooden terrace facing the beautiful lake. The spa cannot compete with specially-built waterparks but for a hotel swimming pool it was great, especially with kids. The breakfast was OK, and in the evening we were very happy with the restaurant service and food.

The architecture of the building was fantastic.

Had a great stay with family, the hotel building itself was old and in need of a reno but it was architecturally fascinating and clean. Would love to see it updated and full of guests. Service was friendly and genuine. Spa was nice, left us wondering how great it would be with an outdoor sauna or access to the natural water.

This pretty big place is next door to the animal park, at lakeside. It has been built to a granite hillside, other accommodation options including camping and cottages. Rooms all have verandas and lakeviews, the staff are friendly. School holidays may be different, after them it is pretty peaceful

Old hotel, quite nice location, our room costs 170euros, and that was normal room, where was extra-bed for kids (small sofa) I know this hotel since 1980 century, and i think rooms was same condition, exp new bath...
If You really wan lakewiew experience, ask room for 1.st floor

We only stayed for one night, but liked it. Service and the view are superb at the restaurant as well as food. Easter menu was really delicious. Yes the rooms need renovation, at least bathrooms, then again everything was spotlessly clean and friendly. Overall a nice place to stay next to the zoo.

It was rather cold inside the rooms even despite we swithed on the heating just upon the arrival. The restaurant and the sauna are very good. Not very easy to find the main building. Good view on the lake from the balcony. No slippers in the room, no ash-tray.

This hotel is a retro style, but not in a positive way. Everything is from the 1976…even the furniture of the room, the bathroom tiles and the wall-to-wall carpet. No wifi in the rooms 😂 But there is great potential, though the renovation costs a fortune… The gem is the architucture that connects the nature and the building. But even concrete needs maintenance…

Lots of potential but needs renovation

The hotel has a great location by a lake and right next to Ähtäri Zoo. The architecture of the hotel is unique but the building itself is way too outdated. There has been hardly any renovation since the 70's when it was built. Also, we found the restaurant a bit too expensive, although food was good. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and we got the service we were expecting.
