Very nice place; staff was great and the room was a good size.Their “laundry service” is really just a standard washing / drying machine in a back room that you have to do yourself. It was not convenient to use. I was hoping it would be more of a drop off / pick up situation. Just a note for future travelers.

This is a lovely hotel which is spotlessly clean with very helpful staff in every way. The location is excellent- only a short walk into town with free parking at the front. The view is amazing - ask for a front room, we didn’t but luckily got one. The hotel is warm despite the weather outside (although it was pleasant when we were there in August. The only down sides are that the soundproofing between rooms is dreadful and the bed was extremely soft. We heard next door talking all the time and pings / alarms on phones which didn’t seem to get turned off! We prefer a harder bed so struggled with the softer mattress. However, overall we had a great stay (coffee / tea machine in rooms aswell as free tea / coffee from the breakfast room all day aswell as being able to eat a take away in the hotel at any time we wanted in that room). The cleaning staff were amazing; reception staff always polite and helpful; breakfast staff were very efficient - nothing was too much trouble for any staff. Thank you for a lovely stay and we recommend Hotel Djurhuus to anyone.

Excellent hotel, great service & always warm.

The hotel is situated just outside of the centre which is no problem since it is a small town. The better rooms have a sea view plus some dull houses, the others have a comprehensive cliff view. The quality is fine, nothing fancy but with good beds and a big TV (reception sometimes sketchy). Breakfast is good but on the basic side. They serve meals at least sometimes, we had one dinner which was great. Drinks are bought in the reception (limited selection).

This hotel is bad. Breakfast was good and people were nice, but our room was horrible. Old and dirty, and you can hear everything from the hall. Hotel offer the gym that is unavailable. I would not stay there again. Torshavn is a very small town and all the hotels are in a walking distance to the downtown.

I asked my travel specialist for a "clean, comfortable, not too expensive" hotel.  Based on his recommendation we stayed at the Hotel Djurhuus, and we got exactly what we were looking for.  We stayed in one of the superior rooms with a sea view.  The room was large and comfortable, but since we were on the ground floor the view of the ocean was largely blocked by the buildings across the street.  Everyone who worked there was very friendly and we felt welcome.  Breakfast was great.  The food didn't change much over the five days we were there, but everything was fresh and tested good.  They had gluten free bread for the one person in our party who can't eat gluten, which was a nice addition.  We never had trouble finding parking in front of the hotel.  Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for and we would stay there again.


Would Stay Again

If you are looking for a ordinary hotel in Torshavn then Hotel Djurhuus is an ok alternative. The rooms are clean, they are not modern, it was some issues with our rooms, could not open windows or problems with the fan (noise or not working) in the bath room. You could hear everyting that was happening in the hallway. The breakfast was just ordinary. The people at the reception was nice, but they was mostly absent, we have felt us more welcom at other hotels. The hotel has a good location in Torshavn, but outside the Hotel is a busy road that is loud in the week days.

Ordinary hotel

Interior was quite out dated. We found dead flies in the window, which was a bit off putting, and the lighting in the bathroom was very poor. However! We only stayed for one night and it was just fine, we slept very well :) Positives: staff were very friendly and accomodating. We asked to check out at 12PM instead of 11AM and it was no issue. I was expecting more for 1300DKK for a night and won't be booking a room like this again.
