This is the place to stay if you are going to Lake Ohrid. George has the best location in the town - right on the lake - so no need for the crowded stony beaches. He offers tour trips and a pick-up service from the airport so that is a huge bonus too. 
His accommodation is clean and well-appointed, with lake views too.
We will be back.

Best place to stay

Very recommended! This was by far the nicest accommodation of my trip. Beautifully located right at the water front, very peaceful yet very close to the center of Ohrid. Also the walk to the Saint John church from the accommodation is stunning. 

The room is cozy and very clean, the mattress and blankets are high quality and very comfortable. There are very handy outlets just next to the bed to charge your phone. Strong wifi quality also in the room.

Host Georgi is very helpful and attentive. Always there to assist you with anything. I loved sitting outside, looking over the water and enjoying the delicious and generous breakfast that Georgi served every morning. Don’t miss out on that.

Make sure you follow the directions Georgi provides before you start driving into Ohrid. The city is full of small and difficult (often one way) streets. You don’t want to get lost.

Overal, a very positive experience. I’d surely come back.

The owner of the hotel is a great person, We come from Turkey .. He and his son helped us a lot in everything .. We'll come here again though! There is nothing to say to the view and the hotel Because it's great!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This apartment is in the middle of the old city with beautiful lake view. 
If you travel with your own car just tell to Georgi before, he will guide you for parking.

Feel at home

A great place with lots of history and culture, very friendly people, great scenery and tasty food. Highly recommendable is a trip to the top of Galichitsa mountain offering great views to both lakes Ohrid and Prespa. Delicious food and wines.

Apartments by the Lake is in the heart of the Old Town and right on the shore of beautiful Lake Ohrid. My room was on the second floor with excellent views across the lake. There is a small kitchen and private bathroom. There is also another room available on that floor which could share these facilities. There is another apartment on the first floor and the family live on the ground floor.
Breakfast is served in the yard next to the lake. I chose the traditional breakfasts which were generous and delicious.
My host Georgi is a kind and hospitable man. He picked me up from, and returned me to, the bus station. He offers a variety of tours. I did a full day one that went all around the lake which meant going into Albania. I also did an afternoon tour into the mountain to visit an old village and eat local cuisine. Both were great. Georgi is passionate about caring for nature and maintaining the beauty of both the lake and town. He is knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. He also offers hiking tours for those who are interested.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was delighted by Ohrid and staying with Georgi.
Apartments by the Lake is the perfect place to stay if you want to get a sense of life in Ohrid.

If you want a stainless steel and glass modern apartment with the latest hi tech equipment don’t stay here.
BUT......................................
If you want:
A simple well equipped kitchen with all the pans etc to cook dinner. 
A clean basic bathroom with hot water and good shower.
A table to eat off and do emails.
A drying rack for your underwear hanging from your balcony window.
A big, comfy clean bed with 2 bedside lights
A genuinely helpful, intelligent family who are a pleasure to share a drink with and learn about their environment from.
A shaded terrace with geraniums, kiwi fruits, grapes and tables for drinking wine and eating breakfast by the lake.
A private dock with ladder into the lake for swimming, sun beds and umbrellas.
A place in the middle of the best bit of the old town.
A marvellous view, sounds of the lake lapping  thru your open window when you wake up, birds, boats etc.
Then this is the best place to stay.

I stayed in the Rosana apartments with a few friends for a long weekend, and we had a great time. The apartment is lovely with beautiful lake views. There is a private area overlooking the water which was perfect for watching the sunrise or sunset over the lake. While the apartment is peaceful, it is only steps away from the lively city centre and great restaurants. Additionally, Georgi and his wife are very welcoming, kind, and have great suggestions for around the town. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Rosana A1 Apartment is situated in a quiet lakeside street  in Ohrid and has   its own private quay from which you can step into the lake for a swim among the teeming tiny fish, The hosts Georgi and Rosana are friendly welcoming hosts and delightful company.The apartment was clean,very well equipped and in 2018, with new very comfortable mattresses. Georgi offers guided tours by car around the lake and into Albania, he is very knowledgeable  abbout Macedonian history and culture. We had a delightful relaxing holiday highly recommended
