My wife and I have just returned from staying at Cherry Orchard in Port Erin for a weeks holiday and although some of the communal areas are a little dated we really enjoyed our stay - the apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. It was quiet and has a very nice swimming pool which I used every morning and very good car parking. Thank you for a great holiday I look forward to my next visit

Really lovely holiday

Excellent for setting base for our adventure holiday. When we arrived the reception lady was kind, helpful and welcoming. Nice and quiet. Exceptionally clean. The lady that comes in the morning to freshen towels and bins was super nice and helpful. The custodial gentleman was friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the place for accomodation. The it real problem we had was the swimming lessons in the pool. It did put us off of the pool but the sea is at the end of the road.

This was an RCI exchange for our regular timeshare at Little Switzerland in the Drakensburg mountains of KZN, South Africa. Both are ostensibly 6 sleepers but there is no comparison between the two in terms of the space offered. ( I would hate to be trapped here with four kids on a rainy day! ) Fortunately we were just two "oldies" and the weather was good so we were out of the apartment for much of the time. Under these circumstances the Cherry Orchard proved adequate. It was clean and well equipped and well situated for the train and bus services ( upon which we relied to view the sights of the island ) with easy access to everything needed for self-catering.

I loved the Cherry Orchard Apartment we rented and loved Port Erin. Everyone was so friendly nice and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat and do in fact hope to soon. As this is my favourite part of the island and the accommodation was lovely, I will definitely be returning. Towels and cleaning daily, great facilities, pool, sauna, gym, bar/restaurant, laundry. Big Shoprite very close by. Lots of lovely walks real close too.

Fab place with everything we needed

It is hard to be critical after meeting the lovely staff at Cherry Orchard, who were always friendly and helpful, but this place is a dive. Negatives: It doesn't seem to have been updated since the 1960s or 70s. The rooms are strange with a wall and window facing the front door, narrow hallways, popcorn ceilings and worn fixtures and doors. The hallways are like a maze and there are holes and paint peeling where old fire hydrants were ripped off the walls. The whole place kind of smells and a lot of the units are rented for long term lets (monthly or more). Laundry is quite expensive, £5.50 for a token to wash and £1.50 for 15 min token in dryer. Although the unit was clean it just felt dirty since everything was so old. Positives: The pool is warm and has an old fashioned slide. The kitchen is well stocked. It is close to the shops in Port Erin and it is right across the street from the steam train depot and a bus stop. The kitchen is decent size and the twin room has good storage. The staff is all really nice, especially Jerry who works the front desk and sometimes at the bar. Would I stay again? Probably not,  I would spend a bit more and stay at a place with more charm and character.

Outdated rundown property but nice staff

We stayed for a week in this somewhat dated but quite comfortable structure. We had a two-bedroom apartment, bathroom, a large living room with cooking corner. The furnishings are discreet but the bathroom was rather lacking (no hot/cold water mixer in the sink).
