Good food and friendly professional service, but (in my view) overpriced for the menu on offer. Other, perfectly good restaurants, are around 20-30% less expensive. But who am I to criticise, 'The Shore' is popular and clearly doing well? We will visit only rarely, I think.

I stayed here on 24th January 2024. The place has a good feel as soon as you walk in with tasteful decoration and a welcoming ambience. The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast was perfect. The room as nicely furnished and came complete with a wood burner which created a homely feel. Would recommend.

Nice Ambience

Real comfort, very good food, proper beer, pleasing ambience, fine location.
The Shore proved to be ideal accommodation in a good location to explore the southern half of the Isle of Man.
With thanks to all the staff who made our stay all the more pleasant.

Just right

Lovely room, very clean & spacious - think we preferred the sofa towards the fireplace meaning the armchair could look out at the sea view which you're paying for. Breakfasts were very good and evening was mainly good just prefer my veg cooked not hard! ;) the grilled prawn starter could do with dressing of some sort as was dry and rather tasteless along with the unseasoned salad. The en suite shower with the fibre optic lights was cute but could seriously do with some repair work on the floor as there are parts of the mosaic pebble tiles missing which leaves the floor surface dangerously sharp for bare feet :(  and the loo by the long window is unique to say the least! Especially when someone is coming down the staircase above looking into your reflective window! Really think a window blind should be available to ensure modesty! The bed is huge but has seen a lot more wear on the side closest into the room so you feel you are falling out of bed! Our main dock of one star is for us the proximity to the road & it being the main thoroughfare for traffic meant two disturbed nights & early road noise so no chance of a lie in :( The room is above the restaurant so some noise can be heard but no later than 11pm.  Would have loved the opportunity to give feedback on checkout but we weren't asked sadly :"(  so value for money was mostly felt just some tlc and it would be better but the road for us was a no no for returning sadly.

We had my 70 th birthday meal here on 21 st July and what an amazing night
My Manx relatives ,my family ,husband and many friends were there 

The staff were truly fantastic , we were able to all have A La Carte and everything was perfect 

The cake they made was truly fantastic

Truly amazing

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel, in fact the best we'd stayed in, excellent food, spotlessly clean and very convenient location for touring the Isle of Man and only a 10 minute drive away from the airport.  Everywhere also accessible by bus. Very relaxing place to stay opposite the beautiful Gansey Bay. 
All the staff were lovely, very friendly and so helpful, going that extra mile.  
We would love to stay again soon and highly recommend the Shore Hotel.

Excellent

The Shore Hotel has been a 'go to' destination for Manx lovers of good food for many years but it has stretched its boundaries in the past year or two.
On a small island surrounded by the Irish Sea the fish on your plate was feeding on the seabed yesterday. Yoy will not get better cod than this.
The service is professionally quiet and the view of the sunset over Gansey Bay is a 'bucket list' picture.

Room was very spacious and well furnished. Bed was exceptionally comfortable.   Bar was very welcoming and the food was very good with a wide choice.  The staff and service were exceptionally good and made the Shore Hotel,a fantastic place to stay.  The bus stop right outside made travelling round the island easy.

We’ve been staying here for 3 nights in room 5 and it was such a great experience 

My family are from the island and eaten here many times but never stayed

Our room was huge ,great views and fab sleep 
Staff are great and service first class

Mike and Julie run a tight ship and deliver unlike many other more expensive places we have stayed

First rate

Terrible, terrible service, arrived before our booked time of 2pm, and we’re not seated till after 20 past, items in the menu were not available and staff were unaware of what was and what wasn’t available, we brought a cake for my daughter’s birthday, and was handed to staff, no mention of a charge for eating in premises was mentioned until it was added to the bill, when we challenged this, we were told that the fee was detailed on the website, which it wasn’t, my sister in law ordered a dessert due to being unable to eat the cake, and the dessert never arrived, when we challenged the owner of the shore, because his staff had absolutely no idea what was going on, he became very rude to my wife and sister in law, he eventually refunded the charge as there was no mention of it anywhere, and had it been mentioned when we arrived we would have not brought it in.  They deleted my negative recommendation on FB, and have now added a post detailing the charge.  Terrible place, staff and attitude throughout.  Avoid.
